Joseph and Anthony Zerilli were the first members of the Detroit Outfit to move to the suburban area of Sterling Heights in the mid '50s. The duo constructed a 40 acre ranch style house which consisted of a stable and work out track for a stable of horses bread and run by the Zerilli's, a ranch style house which served as the primary residence for the older Zerilli untill his death in 1978, a barn and pond filled with ducks and fish, an old farmhouse for the animals caretaker and a track for casual horse back riding. The Hilltop property originally located on a hilltop near 18 1/2 mile rd., and Plumbrook Creek. Zerilli's brick house and most of the property were sold off following the Don's death and in it's place constructed an exclusive high rent neighborhood financed as a joint venture by Anthony Zerilli and Jack Tocco. All that remains of the once sprawling complex is the 4,724-square foot ranch-style home made of dark brick and gray stucco that houses the family of Anthony J. Zerilli. Zerilli's home was noted for the prescencse in the backyard of a lighted statue replica of the Madonna and a kidney shaped swimming pool. If you look at the photo the statue is partially visible in the upper left corner.
