Terror is what Josh felt the night his sister disappeared into the woods. Josh lives in a nice neighborhood in Anaheim, California. It is a small little town filled with upright citizens but surrounded by woods. Nothing ever goes wrong except every full moon a child disappears. The five year old josh felt his world shattered when his sister disappeared.Josh’s family just moved to Anaheim two weeks ago from the big city of Los Angeles. There parents brought a new house next to the woods at a very low price. They wondered why the rate was so low but it was part of a good neighborhood. One day, Josh and his seven year old sister, Caitlin, were playing hide in seek in their new backyard. It was getting really dark and they weren’t paying attention. Josh was looking for his sister when his mother called them to come inside. He yelled, “Caitlin ! Caitlin ! Where are you? You could come out now.” he could not find his sister any where . Then he heard a screeching scream. He ran towards where the scream came from and saw a weird mud like apparition dragging his sister away. He hysterically repeated “a monster took Caitlin away”. His parents rushed outside and started looking for Caitlin but she was no where to be found. The police came but showed no interest in the case because they heard it about a million times. Off course , Josh’s parents felt there should me a logical reason not some legend to describe this kidnaping . The police searched for the little girl. They found no clues but dried mud that they took for sampling. After this incident, Josh was in total shock. His parents decided to take him to the town therapist, Dr. Robert Freedman. Dr. Freedman tried different methods to get Josh to speak of that night such as playing games and hypnotizing to help recall his memory. Josh kept on referring to this thing that took his sister away as the “bogey man”. The therapist grew up in this town so he knows the stories of the missing children. He started to observe certain patterns among the kidnapping. All the kidnaping took place after sunset and it occurred in the woods.there was also a lunar pattern because it happened only on full moon nights. He developed couple of theory to what happens.Dr. Freedman went to see his police officer friend, Leslie Peters at the station. He told her what he thinks happened. He said that these incidents could be happening due to something supernatural. He explained the patterns and connected it to be Goblins. In various myths and legends, goblins are thought to be hypersensitive to light. If exposed to light they turn to stone so that is why they come out in the dark. Leslie was skeptical to believe this but she does not know what to believe after the forensic scientist told her the sample of mud thing is actually not mud. The substance dissipate little by little.Meanwhile, Josh was scared to death that the “bogey man” will come for him next. Goblins could smell the fear of children. That night was another full moon night. Dr. Freedman realized this and drove with Leslie as fast as possible to Josh’s house but it was to late. The goblin came into Josh’s room on the first floor and took him away. Dr. Freedman and Leslie saw this and chased them. After running for a while they realized they were headed towards the old gold mine.
Once they reached there they couldn’t find Josh. They decided to go inside when they heard a scream coming from inside. Leslie pulled out her gun and Dr. Freedman turned on the flashlight and they entered together. Up ahead they saw josh running from the goblin. Dr, Freedman jumped on the goblin and Leslie took Josh aside. Dr. Freedman struggled with the goblin until they came outside. As the sun was about to come out the goblin turned to stone. Dr. Freedman crushed the goblin with a rusted hammer. Then they took Josh home to his parents. Now, the Goblin will never terrorize little children of Anaheim ever again.
