This Quote means that the author of a literary work may show us , the readers, the worst in a human being, while also reavealing the best.This is scene in literature like the novel Their eyes were watching Godby:Zora neal Hurston and the play Macbethby:William Shakespeare.

The play Macbeth is about a man named Macbeth who saw three witches and they told him what the future would hold for him.Before that happened he was the most honest man you could ever meet.He then began to kill and manipulate people to get what he wanted.For example he killed the king duncan his kinsman just to become king.This shows how bad he was but when he was doing good and being loyal to his kinsman that revealed the best.

The book Their eyes were watching God by :Zora neal Hurston is another example pertaining to the critical lens.The character joe starks who was Janie's first husband,begin to be very nice and caring person.He really cared for Janie.He was planning to be man of avery prominant position and he suceeded.When Joe Starks got his position,he made a 180 degree turn andbegin to treat janie badly; He was no longer the person he was when he did'nt have his position. That showed how he went from good to bad, this character showed the best in him and the also the worst.

Great literature does show us the readers,the worst in a human being while also revealing the best.It shows how a person can go from good to very bad.
