Who Am I

Who am I? My name is Donna Balkumar. I am seventeen years old. My birthday is on July 4th. I was born in New York City and I'm a senior currently attending Jamaica High School.
I have had many experiences in life, but I learned from them. When I was eleven years old my mother passed away. I have four sisters so if I needed help I can turn to them. Only one of my sister had graduated from high school and moved on to college.
I want to be the first girl in my family to complete a full education. I learned from my mistakes and that my sisters have made. They all got married at an early age and some of them depend on their husbands to support them.
I feel that I should be an independent person and have my own obligations to certain things. This is why I'm looking forward to attending college next Fall. From then on I will see where my future leads.
