Importance Of Simon Bolivar to Venezuela
Venezuela has experienced many changes. Many leaders have taken Venezuela through these changes and many have made important contributions to it but none is more important than Simon Bolivar. He has done many things for Venezuela. Not only that country but to a few others as well. This is seen through his actions all around South America. He was a great general.
Simon Bolivar is considered a great leader in Venezuela. He is considered a great leader because he helped to get rid of Spanish influence in Venezuela. He was a chief leader in the independence movement He helped Venezuela gain her independence from Spain. He helped set up a constitution for Venezuela . He ended Spanish rule there after the battle of Carabob. It later became part of the republic of Gran Colombia but would later break and form is own constitution under another general.
In addition to helping Venezuela, Simon Bolivar helped other countries as well. He helped a few countries gain their independence from Spain. He set up a government and united some South American countries into one whole republic. He became the president of it. His republic included what is now Colombia, Venezuela, Panama, Ecuador, and Peru. Northern Peru would be named Bolivia in his honor.
Countries experience changes throughout their existence. Their leaders distinguish themselves through their actions as they lead these countries. Simon Bolivar distinguished himself from the rest of the leaders of his time by helping many countries achieve their independence. He contributed much more also. This is why Simon Bolivar is an important figure in Venezuelan history.
