Born and raised in the United States, I am the eldest child of two daughters. My sister is one year younger than me, and attends Jamaica High School. Although she disrupted my quiet cocoon of peace and supremacy as the only child, we are very close and are practically best friends. Originally from Haiti, my parents never finished High School, but made education an essential principle in our household. I will be the first person in the family to graduate from high school and attend college.

As a future college student, I have a variety of goals. My first objective is to graduate high school with honors and with an Advanced Placement Regents diploma. However, I also plan to enjoy my privileges as a senior. I plan to go to the senior trip to Swan Lake Resort, and later in June I plan to attend prom. In college I intend to maintain a grade point average of 3.6. I want to major in psychology and minor in political science, and later earn my doctorate in psychology. I also plan to take several courses in photography, interior decorating and the culinary arts. Following those studies, I also plan to go to Law School. By the time I am twenty-eight, I will be an attorney practicing criminal and civil law with a doctorate in psychology. My dream is to eventually become a United States Supreme Court judge.

In my spare time I enjoy several activities. My favorite past time is reading. I like nearly all types of books, from historical nd fiction to mystery and suspense. I am also a movie fanatic. I love watching movies, anything from classics and currents to comedy, horror and drama. I also like listening to a variety of music. Depending on my mood, I may relax with Marvin Gaye, sing along with Diana Ross and Aretha Franklin, lift my hands in praises with Kirk Franklin, daydream to Whitney Houston or Brian McKnight, rap with Nelly or Eminem, sway to Shania Twaine or Marc Anthony, or dance to Britany Spears or B2K. I also enjoy cooking and baking. After school I am either in a Yearbook meeting or Law Team gathering. In addition, I am a representative in the Senior Congress.

As a friendly and down to earth person, I have many friends and associates. Of all these beings, there is only one whom I trust with anything including my life, and that is God. As a Christian, I have to put my faith in him, and allow him to guide my life. When one is as independent as I am that can be rather difficult. However by going to church and absorbing his teachings, I have come to doubt God less, and trust him more. It is also difficult trying to talk to someone I can’t physically see. I have learned that God is always listening; all I have to do is talk. It’s like talking to a friend except that I don’t have to get on the phone or log on to a computer. Unlike human friends, God is always around, even when I am sleeping or walking to school alone. Lastly, as a Christian I have to be different from what society dictates is right, and stand up for what I believe in even if I am standing alone. That means I cannot curse, dress scantily, engages in fighting, have premarital sex, be selfish, lie, cheat, and disobey my parents, just to name a few. However God understands I that I am not perfect, and can only try my best.

Who am I? In response to that question, I am a beautiful, intelligent, hard working, friendly, and outgoing young Christian woman who lives life to the fullest.
