L Hughes Man Of Poetry


Langston Hughes was born on the 1st of Feburary, 1902 in Joplin, Missouri. He attended Central High school in Ohio. Here became interested in poetry and writing. Later he atttended Coloumbia University and then went onto Lincoln Univewrsity in Pennsynlivia in 1929. At Lincoln he earned his B.A. He condemed racism and was one of the most influential thinkers of teh African American Artistic movement.His Poems and publication appeared in the NAACP and the Crisis Magazine. In his Novel “the negro artist and the racial movement” he talked about how some African American were not proud of their culture and encouraged those who felt that way to feel other wise. This work appeared in The Nation. Langston Hughes also edited seven Anthologies. And during World War 2 he wrote jingles to encourage the support of foreign policies and support of the people by buying bonds.
