The Center Of Nature's Elements

Our journey takes place in another world and time when magic and mystical beings were not just a myth. There was a realm of Elves, magical beings friendly to nature. It is partly their job to maintain Earth and the life that dwells on it. They lived in a place where rivers and streams flowed clean and fresh and trees shot up in every species healthy, strong and green. Mountains and mole hills, birds and animals all intermingled to create a beautiful paradise. Night was the most mystical time, when stars, moons and clouds mixed with the light of magic things and mystical creature like unicorns.

This Elf realm which was separate from human lands was divided into four parts the Norteiz Westize, Easterize and Southize Kingdoms. Far into the past, before humans discovered this elf realm, the Southize and Easterize kingdoms were destroyed. The Westize had to replenish themselves from the attack of Oreges, which were increasing. Beings such as these lived in the area beyond the far west. They were Oreges, dirty and sinister with no particular intelligence. Their greatest goal was to spread as far as they could into the lush realm of elves by any means possible. Even though they out numbered the Elves slightly, they never were even close to success because they had no strategy. Soon things were going to change.

Now they were under the guidance of a wise alchemist, Javier Dewalds. He was from the Deep South, an area found in the human lands that were located just a little beyond the area where the elf Kingdom of Southize used to be. He was greatly respected, liked and still feared by many. Being once a welcomed guest of the Elf realm until one day he was caught trying to steal the power the elves had over nature for himself; they banished him. Word spread throughout the human sphere of the south. With a ruined reputation and shamed heart, Javier wandered away with his books and chemicals into the far west. There he found a cave where he stayed for many years letting his shame grow to bitterness and eventually his bitterness grow to vengeance. He plotted, researched and practiced, learning more as he gained powers and transformed from a mere alchemist too a warlock. His plan was to weaken the elves, watching them and their surrounding be destroyed with their strongest protectors. Then he would step in and take control having the weaker at his mercy. To be successful he would have to kill the King and Queen and all those in the line of royalty and so that the Oreges would have their chance to destroy and weaken their warriors. Javier found a potion that inversed the elements of nature and that would render powerful elves powerless or dead. This potion was made to extract the pure essences of nature that was present in all elves especially those in the royal line. These essences are Fire, Wind, Water and Water.

With a powerful spells he gained control over the simple minded Oreges, this was the army that he needed. With a handful of his minions, Javier set fourth to the Westize kingdom casting his spell on the royal warriors and getting his chance to use the potion on King and Queen, they died. All the royal warriors were powerless and in a moribund state. All accept one, Denoles. He was not fully affected by this potion because he was not full elf but rather half human. He pretended that he was powerless and fled away in the night to warn the Norteiz kingdom. Meanwhile Javier created a magical cloak that hide the fact that the King and Queen were dead and the guards helpless for a few days until he got the royalty of the Norteiz.

That very night Javier set out for the Norteiz kingdom. When Denoles got there he did get a short chance to warn some of the elder elves and royal warriors. Javier was successful in his deed except for the last heir, Princess Charophwen. Denoles was barely able to save her. The warlock disappeared as the warriors appeared. Charophwen was not dead but in an enchanted coma, all her natural elements drained she lay there helpless with a weakening nation. Soon Javier would be back to finish the job and destroy everything with his Orege minions. Without the any royal line, the carriers of elf power, Norteiz would soon grown weak on their own. Charophwen’s power had to be restored. The only way that the powers could be restored was to retrieve the two lost element stones. These were the Fire stone which earlier belonged to the Easterize Kingdom and the Wind stone which belonged to the Southize Kingdom before their demise. The Earth stone of the Westize kingdom and the Water stone of the Norteiz were, for now, safely in the hands of those who now watched over all of Norteiz. In order for the Princess’ powers to return, all four nature stones would have to be placed in four corners around where she lay. Then the magical energy would literally flow out of the stones, like a Zephyr, and be absorbed into her body until she again can control most of the natural elements that make Elves so magical and strong.

Head of the Chief Elders of Norteiz revealed that the stones were in human territory of the South. They were put there because many humans no longer believed in any sort of magic or would know what to do with them if found, except to sell it for wealth . Still not just any regular elf could wonder into their realm and get the stones, human’s ignorance would create a lot of tension which would get in the way of the quest. Being that Denoles is half human and half elf he had the best chance and qualifications. However he had to travel alone. Denoles accepted his quest in order to save the last two kingdoms of his kind and for his secret love of Charophwen. The Great books stated that the Fire stone was to be found in a place whose matter burns the skin in great amounts. The Wind stone was to be found in a place where wind is felt the most but yet most unlikely. That very day Denoles set fourth to find the stones.

One would think that the fire stone would be in a deep Earth near to lava and such extreme conditions. Denoles first visited the volcano Aregwen; however, getting there was a problem. He did pass for human at first however he was still and outsider and no one had the compassion to assist Denoles in anyway. Next a drunkard man named Tim Boney and his crew of men decided to hassle Denoles for their amusement. Of course they lost and wondered how just one man could do all those damage? Them Tim recognized the inscriptions on Denoles’s sword and since then word spread that an elf was amongst them. Sooner or later he knew that he would have a bounty on his head. Everyone knew that Elves didn’t come into human lands unless something was very wrong with their realm. They would find out the weak state that his kin and he were in. Dark magic practices would pay anything for an elf in a weak state. The ironic part was that they did not know that Dennoles was not as weak as the others but still a bounty would be unwanted attention. And so he was correct because he was never again hassled and many even scampered away at his sight.

When he finally got to the volcano Aregwen he made touched the side and concentrate on natural elements. There she sensed an overwhelming amount of fire energy but this was not because the stone was near or in there but because of the raw heat from the lava within. Lava was going to was outwards. There was no way that it could be in there; no one not even an elf could survive that heat. Where could it be? He wondered. He remembered what the Great book said about the location of the Fire Stone. What else may burn the skin other that fire or heat? Then a crazy idea came to him. Maybe it was something opposite of fire like ice. When ice is laid upon the skin for too long it to burns. He then realized that he must go to the ice lands of Jebrannio.
When he got to the ice lands of Jebrannio all was desolate and depressing. He traveled for miles off flat land until he came upon a structure which looked like a half ruined castle of ice. Denoles entered with caution. All was quiet; he channeled for the stone but just then from all corners came guards made out of sheer ice. They surrounded Denoles then made a pathway for a woman like figure that came towards him. This figure was the infamous Ice Queen. She was made out nothing but blue crystal and her face had no features except for a red dot that lay in between what would have been her eyebrows. That was the Fire stone.

She said “I care not whether your desire for the stone is to the use good or evil. You have entered a realm where many darers not travel and it has been a while since any one has come. You are here for my entertainment!"

With no uncertainty, Denoles chopped and crushed each warrior into pieces, still though they rose up as quickly as he chopped them down because they were after all made of enchanted water. He tried to use the diminishing power of fire against them to melt them away. However they just refroze into their shapes with only perhaps slight disfiguration. What else could Denoles do, all he needed was enough time to leave the queen exposed. He decided to use a double element, that of fire and earth. This would either work or kill him. He melted them again then used earth magic to cover the liquid warriors in dirt. It worked and they did not take shape immediately. He them turned to the Queen and melted her feet and arms only so that she was almost in a puddle, he then used water to keep that puddle from reforming. Earth water and the enchanted materials that the Queen was made out of are very different, when the two water mixed her body kept melting instead of reforming. He then carefully extracted the stones she was helpless. Feeling the strength of the stone already he gained the strength to now dry up the watery earth thus ending reformation, which were the ice warriors. As for the Queen, he left her to nature’s fate.

The presence of the Fire stone along with his own senses guided him to the Wenowaka Mountains. The second stone was somewhere midway up the mountains. Denoles thought that it must have to be in a cave with a protector of some sort. When he made it to his destination he was shocked to find that no cave was found in the mountains, not even the slightest puff of air was present except for mist and fog. Then right out of the atmosphere a giant Willocregale swooped down and lifted Denoles away. This was one of the almost extinct creatures of the magic realm that moves freely in and out of it. He was taken to their home which was not too far from elf realm. It was the habitat of many more just like its kind; these birds were humongous and beautiful. Just like the rich colors of Parrot and Peacock, they too had many colors, but their color came from the reflections from the many embedded jewels found in the very feathers of their bodies. The obvious leader came before Denoles and discarded one of its precious feathers. There lay the final needed stone, the wind stone.
It was the fire stone that found the Wind stone because they are a pair, oxygen / wind make fire stronger and grow.

Denoles set fourth for Norteiz. In the midst of the Silvery forest which now grew tainted with surrounding destruction from Javier’s efforts, he came under attack from Oreges. He fought and fought, the stones helped but since he could not control them he could obviously not use them to full power. They seemed stronger than he remembered and they did not stop just like juggernauts. Also the stones seemed to only attract more and more of them. Denoles was becoming worried that it would have ultimately attracted Javier. Fortunately just in the nick of time Denoles was aided by a handful of warrior elves that was sent out to ensure his safe arrival to the place since the Oreges and Javier almost had complete control of the Westize Kingdom. There they immediately set the stones in the prearranged room and placed Charophwen in the center. The stones each began to trickle out their essence but there was a problem. The essence was not mixing and absorbing in her. No one in all the court could understand why this was happening, they did not expect this. A solution had to be found quickly because now Charophwen was definitely going to die without the essence and all elf kind along with her. Meanwhile Denoles was struggling with his grief and fear of losing Charophwen before they had a chance to be together.

Just then his human side surfaced. Just like any person would react at a time when they are about to lose someone important to them so too did Denoles. He moved over to where Charophwen lay, took her frail hand in his kissed her gently upon her precious and pure lips and then broke down in silent tears. He wept for all that was to be lost and for the obvious love he has for it all. At that moment the essence began to mix and form a path that led to Denoles and then straight to Charophwen through their held hands. Then in a burst of light everyone disappears and it is only the two of them, as they stared deeply into each other’s eyes their feelings transcended what it was and became love. They stood this way until all the needed essence was absorbed.

By this time Javier has control over all of the Westize Kingdom. There are burning forests and dried up lakes. Those who had enough magic left to escape fled to the Norteiz kingdom. Now it was a battle between the venom of Javier’s bitter revenge and the last of survivors of all Elf kind. Warrior scouts sent word to Princess Charophwen that Javier and hi minions were due to arrive sometime in the early morning of that very day . All of the elf’s major powers returned to them when Charophwen received hers, but this was now no longer enough to beat Javier . Back in the Westize Javier sucked every last drop of magic from the bodies of each elf victim. The elves now could only hope to deal with the Oreges army which grew in number everyday. There was only one way to defeat Javier now and that was by taking the absolute control of these four elements. Charophwen would be able to call upon any element and natural disaster. To do this it the stated in the Great book that an emblem had to be made out of the element stones. Because love was the unspoken essence that was needed to make the stones work, it was decided that the emblem was to be Charophwen’s wedding ring. Denoles and the Princess were going to be married. The ceremony would be where the ring was blessed by love and therefore filling the part where the essence of love was needed.

It was time . Javier and his minions were in Norteiz . The Elf warriors met them head on , fast and strong . Without hesitation Charophwen used her ring and called upon the powers of wind. The wind picked up with terrifying force and almost like a magnet , pulled the Oreges out of the battle field and isolated them . Then the sky grew dreary and tornadoes dropped down from the skies picking up every last one of the Oreges and blasted them into the great ocean of Kykunanie. Seeing this Javier called upon his magic to intercept Charophwen but it was no match and no use. She called upon the power of water and wind to freeze him from skin to bone. This would not last though so then she called upon the earth to open up beneath his statue body and then she summoned the fires of Mount Antigone and the Lava from Volcano Aregwen to flow beneath the opening . The fire would melt Javier into water then into nothing but vapor where he would be condensed and precipitate again.

It was all over now . The quest was successful and complete . They learned about the new unspoken element of earth , which is love. Love was the very center of all the other elements, with out Denoles’ love for Princes Charophwen the stones would never have worked and all of Elf kind would be lost forever.
