Get To Know Me Better

Who am I? My name is Marsharique Tello. I am 16 years old and was born in Kingston Jamaica W.I. Unfortunately I am still in High School. I am looking forward to going to college and finishing.That is one of my top priorities.

You might want to say that I grew-up in what you would call an unfortunate home, but to me it is very fortunate. I grew-up with just my mother, aunt and grandmother. I know who my father is but in these days he seem never to do anything for me. Growing up I realize the struggles my mom goes through.I love her a lot for taking care of me instead of walking out on us. Of course I am not he only one, I have a younger sister which is 12. I also have other brothers and sisters which I don't live with. They are from my father's side. My 12 year old sister really looks up to me, I try to be the best role model to her and it's hard. I am only human, I make mistakes. I just hope she doesn't follow them. I give her a little push once in a while to do well in school or I just do my best in school to show her that a little work pays off in the long run.

Yes, we're girls so other things come into play like looking cute and boys. She is kind of a tomboy, but she will grow out of it soon-I hope! It is ok for her to have her own individual style. I teach her little things like how to do her hair and nails, and tell her how important it is to know how to match her clothes. I also tell her not to rush into things with boys and don't let them push you into doing anyhting you don't want to. Your actions will be your consequences! She might not want to do things that I would want to do but I still support her. She is young and has a mind of her own and i believe she will use it well.

Things are hard; I have a lot of eyes watching me. I can't slip up. Academically, I'm good, but not excellent.I am trying to get there. I'm about a B, B+ average student. I am satisfied with it. I still try to push myself that extra mile.Honestly, I feel really proud of myself for getting this far and not messing up or having any regrets. I owe it to my mother to be focused and do well in school to maake something of myself. Right now I'm in the 11th grade and have persued things in life that most 11th graders haven't.

As of now, I'm working on my career for the future. My carrer goal is to become an Investment Banker or Financial Analysis. Obviuosly, I am a member of the Academy Of Finance in Jamaica High School. This program has opened many doors for me. It gives me a really good head start on life. Hopefully in the future I would work in the Financial capital of the world, New York City, and put my skills to the test.

About my personality! I am sweet to you if you are sweet to me. I have a fun personality. I don't like things or people to bother me and stress me out. I am very patient, hard working determined and very independent. I am the type of person who would want to know that I worked for what I have. I only want to depend on myself and no one else.
