Walter Francis White
(1896-1955)
A Man Of Perserverance
Walter F. White was born not like any other negro. He was blue-eyed, and pink skinned. He was born on July 1,1893 in Atlanta Georgia. Walter F. White was a special investigator of lynching for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People(NAACP). He was destined to be the leader of one of America's oldest organizations. Because of his appearance he could slip through the "color line" and blend into the white anonymity. Instead he chose to represent what he was. Mr. White was a strong believer in the simple thing known as Justice.
As the voice of the NAACP, he put America's eyes on the horror of discriminating, lynching and segregation of blacks. He fought hard for what he believed in. On the 21st of March,1955 all of his dreams came to an end. He served as the voice of the NAACP from 1931 until his death.
