As I reflect on September 11th , 2001, I remember feeling elated. I recall telling everyone that it was my half birthday and I was going to be fifteen in exactly six months. However, my jovial spirits did not last very long. About an hour into the school day, rumors quickly spread about a terrorist attack. Students and teachers tried their best to remain calm in a paranoid and chaotic environment. The events on this day began the war on Iraq.
The immediate answer to the attack was to wage war on the enemies. In my honest opinion, it was not a well-orchestrated plan. Americans were outraged and taken by surprise. They believed that war was the only way to avenge them. The theory of war, as the answer, created more problems rather than solutions.
Since the start of the war, the economy has deteriorated. The death toll of Americans is extremely high, and a lot has been sacrificed to continue the war. As a minor, there is not much that I can do about the issue. My only methods of understanding the issue of war and expressing my opinion are reading and writing about the ongoing situation. I believe that war is an unfortunate burden on family, the economy, and the soldiers. The reflections I have on 9/11 will never be forgotten because it has created a great deal of heartache for many people.
