Persuasive Eassy:Filtering

An eerie, yet highly justified silence descends upon the student's that have to used the computer in their English class, the same students who savagely cheered as they do their work on the computer for the marking period's. Now, as the term is coming to an end, one last chance to know if they pass or not, quietly and tensely clutch the edges of their seats as their teacher move to front of the room and as the teacher have the students attention, in one explosive motion anounce that every one had pass the class. The valcano erupts. The students leap from their seats, madly cheering for each other.

And now that you know what it's like, please don't try to tell me that behavior like this is "inappropiate" in a class room. Don't tell me that those teacher and students in other classes are doing better things like research or homework. Don't tell me that the students has wasted their time on computer. Don't tell me that there wouldn't be a guy or gal out there using a computer if there wasn't computer in school. And most of all, don't tell me that the students doesn't deserve all that glory for themself because of their good work they did. Come on! Both you and I know computer's are great. They do a lot more good for the school and its students than it does bad for anything else anyone can think of. You don't believe me? Read on.

It's a no brainer that the top priority of students today ie their education, but it still is wrong to claim that computer inhibit the learning process of those directly involved. Sure there's a lot of pressure on the students who involved, for they have to learn the other students who don't know how to use the computer and they also have to do their work at the time. But nobody's holding a gun to their heads forcing them to do this. They participate of their own free will. Besides, it froce students to manage their time, something a lot of emphasis is placed on in today's very active society. As young people, they are additionally taught valuable lessons in life such as helping other, coping with time, and respect for other. Having fun is not a bad thing either, and this goes for both the students who are involved and are not."Regular" class students have to find something to amuse themselves with at some time, and what better thing is there to take their minds off regular work than to go on the computer and get on any web site they want. It's a time to support each other, socialize, and enjoy themselves. Now how bad is that?

But what about filtering on school computer how are you going to control that with so many computer being used? they ask. Good question. Filtering is just something that is in the way of students learing about other web site that can benefit them. Sure filtering suppose to block bad web site that may not be benefit to the students in school for example, pornography, chat room, ect. which it does not do, but who are we to jude. But if does work, does it stop students from viewing these unnessery web site, no I don't think so because if they don't get on the web site in school they will go some where else and find a way to get on.So I don't see the point of having filtering especially when it don't do it work.
