My Brief Autobiography

By the grace of God, I was born on October 18,1983 in Wiesbaden, Germany. My life was finally beginning. I was so excited and I couldn't wait. While I was waiting in line in heaven to be born, God whispered in my ears and told me about the people I would meet and of all the experiences I would have. I absolutely couldn't wait.

My name is Philonda Chivon Johnson. I am a sixteen-year-old Junior Gateway student at Jamaica High School in Jamaica, New York. I have had the lucky opportunity to be raised in a single-parent home. Most people might say that living in a single-parent home is difficult and very stressing. I agree but from being raised in such a household, I view the world more realistically then most of my peers. My peers fail to see the truth about the world. It appears as though they focus their lives solely upon clothing and friends instead of what is truly important: education.

I value education. I can actually say that I have been receiving the best possible education at Jamaica High School. This is due to the great program known as Gateway. Gateway gives students the most detailed and modern education possible. For me to be a prototype of the public education system, I can say that the system has done good. The Gateway program at Jamaica High School appears to be extremely similar to such school's like Brooklyn Tech and Bronx Science.

I dream of becoming an attorney. I aspire to one day open my own law firm dedicated toward women's needs. I love law. I love every single principal that is present in law. My burning desire for law aroused from participating in my school's law team and being mentored by attorneys from a prestigious law firm. They sparked a huge interest within me. I have always wanted to fight and lobby justice and equality for people. But, not until I received special mentoring from those attorneys did I figure out that becoming a "moral" and justice-seeking attorney would be the best way to accomplish my dreams.

After graduation I plan on immediately entering college. Due to the fact that I want to go to law school, I have approximately seven years of college ahead of me. I plan on majoring in Political Science, Criminal Justice or English. I am not actually sure of the right path for me concerning majors are as yet. But, I open for suggestions. I aspire to enter Binghamton University, University of Albany or Howard University. I have many aspirations and goals and I plan on not stopping until I am done. Wish me luck!
