COLLEGE WORRIES BEFORE COLLEGE

Yeah, yeah yeah, college is stressful what's new. I bet you think that college is fun because you have classes once or twice a week. Well I dont know see I'm not in college yet but am applying for colleges. Remember how life was when tying our shoelaces was the hardest thing that we had to do. Reality check, you're older now and college is your goal, well mine anyway. We can see that even the simplest things in our lives include a step by step process in which we aim to accomplish a task. All of the situations in our lives are not as simple as tying our shoelaces, if only they were, but each does follow a process.

Well right now I'm a junior in high schol, only one more year to go!. I'm so happy.

Applying for colleges is a very strenuous and complicated task for many sudents. It is as so many like to call it time consuming, and more work than school itself. In order to prepare myself for my college life I had to first get a booklet filled out about imformation on myself, such as interests and academic record. This was'nt that bad since I already know who I am and what my interests are. Then I had to have my teachers write reconmendation letters for me to the colleges.

Note never stop talking to a teacher after you leave their class because they will most likely forget about you and your attitude, and because you need them to write good things about you for your reconmendation.

The best of all about applying to college is having to write an autobiography. The autobiography is really exciting because it let me get a first look at all of the things that I have accomplished in the couple of years that I have lived on this earth, and let me feel really proud about my achievements. The next big thing is having to take the SAT's and getting a good score since there is no such thing as failing, in order to get into the college you want or atleast a good college. The SAT's as we now know has gotten harder, basically because the school board is trying to kill us, and we thought that they would care enough not to stress us out. I mean we have lives too. We have friends to chill with, phone conversations to have and other teenage things to do, rather than bother to study for the SAT's. My personal aim is to get a 1300 on the SAT's since I want to get into NYU. Now the only problem with that is taking time out of my schedule, like I have time anyways, to study for the Sat's. The next thing that has to be done is finding a college that will fulfill your career needs.

Things are just too confusing at this point. See I don't want to go to a college that is far away, so if I do see a college I like it is far away. Now do you understand what I mean college is already stressing me out before I get in.

Now colleges are sending me a lot of imformation and basically what they have to offer to me. There are so many letters to read and mail out but it's not that bad since I don't have to write any essays yet.

Don't get scared yet. The essays are not that hard to write if you like to write, and are really interested in that college.

Basically the essays will have you writing about your aims, goals, and what you hope to get from that college. The essays kind of get you used to college work, first hand. If you are applying for scholarships, good luck. Get your pencils and paper ready, and make sure that you have coffee in your house. See, some scholarships may ask you to write ten page papers and some less. The topic of these papers vary depending on what scholarship you are applying for. After you have completed the hard part the rest is basically easy. If you choose you may want to visit a college of interest to you which is the fun part because you meet new people and get away from home.

Applying for college can be stressful, but what isn't stressful in life. We all should never try to take the easy way out by thinking that we can't make it in or through college. In order to be a true success in life college is essential or else we're gonna find our selves working harder for something that we could have had in an easier way if we did go to college.

I know that college is going to open doors for me and my friends and because of this I won't let the stress of actually getting in hold me back from being successful in college. And who knows college might not be that bad.
