1) The children in the movie Dead Poets Society(DPS) are given no say in their own lives because each of the childs parents all want them to do what they say and not hear what the children think. The children obdiently accept what others tell them because their ignorant parents have them prone to listen only to authority figures. Instead of being totally obdient the children can choose to disagree and tell their parents if they feel the decision made is not of their best intrest.
2) Economic status plays a major part in the film in the fact that the richer one of the children are the more is expected of them by their parents. It seems that someone's economic status doesn't exactly make them happy or disatisfied. Economic status in the film seems to give the children stress and heartache both ways. In the film it seems that economic status brings the children nothing but pain and makes their parents expect more of them than they can handle. It seems to me that the children's decisions will basically determine their economic status which includes whether they will rich or poor.
3)In the film Robin Williams(Mr Keating) desire to get through to the children seems to be out of the fact that he doesn't want them to go through life without making decisions for themselves. It may be hard for a teacher with a style such as his to be accepted by his peers which may lead to much criticism. If teachers such as Mr Keating and the children he taught stayed in the school they could teach future students to think for themselves and see that sometimes tradition isn't always the best thing. In my environment change is usually accepted and thought of as unique by peers.
