A KISS

When two people put their lips together, what is really happening? Why do moist, warm, soft lips feel so good? Why is it so compelling that we want more, and more, and more? We begin to feel breathless, breathing faster and harder, holding on closer and tighter to our partners. We are separated from the world, another reality, at least for the duration of the kiss. Our heartbeats racing, our temperatures rising, and the rest of the world, for the moment, passes by.

What is a kiss? A kiss is worth a thousand words. The dictionary calls it an expression of affection or greeting; a caress with the lips; or a gentle touch or contact. Whether it be a show of affection to a cute baby, a greeting bestowed to a relative or a friend, or an expression of passion shared with a lover, kisses are an intimate expression of ourselves.

Professors of the same word define a kiss in different ways. To a professor of Algebra, a kiss is two divided by nothing. To a professor of geometry, a kiss is the shortest distance between two straight lines. To a physics professor, a kiss is the contraction of mouth due to the expansion of the heart. To a Chemistry professor, a kiss is the reaction of the interaction between two hearts. To a professor of Accountancy, a kiss is a credit because it is profitable when returned. To an Economic professor, a kiss is that thing which the demand is higher than the supply. To a Physiology professor, a kiss is the juxtaposition of two orbicularis muscle in the state of contraction. To a Dentistry professor, a kiss is infectious and antiseptic.

It is a scientific fact that a romantic kiss signals our brains to produce the hormone oxytocin, which is responsible for the "good-all-over-over" feeling we experience when kissing. The hormone is also needed in high levels for the process of sexual arousal and, ultimately, orgasm. It is also known that biology causes one kiss to prompt another. When we kiss, the interior of our mouths and edges of our lips produce a chemical that screams for more.

The wonderful, romantic kisser sees the kiss as the destination itself. The person kisses as if they will never do anything else with their partner. The person kisses as if this is what they have been dying to do for all their life. They savor every minute, every second, every moment.

Kissing should be creative. A simple kiss is a combination of slow, sensual, intimate, and mutual touching, tasting, nibbling, licking, and breathing. Let the hands loose and explore. Close your eyes and enjoy the moment.

A kiss is worth a thousand words. It conveys a wide variety of emotions. A kiss can mean love; It can mean lust, or anger or anxiety. It other cases, a kiss is just a kiss.
