What separates a LOVER and a FRIEND?

What separates a lover from a friend? I tried to distinguish the two based on my experiences, and this is what I came up with:
A friend is someone who will always be there for you no matter what happens. A friend is a person you trust and confide with. We tell each other the deepest details of our lives, such as things that we don't even share with our families. They are an ally in a struggle or cause. When you are sad, a friend is alwyas there to cry on and share your problems with. They provide you support and advice. A friend has an ear that listens and a heart that cars. They will never allow you to suffer aloine. A friend always tries to make you laugh when you're down and feeling lonely and dperessed. A friend is someone who hangs out with you and not ditch you and go to someone else. We may have our disagreements; we may be concerned about one another.
One describes a friend as "a person who's close to you, who knows and accepts you as you are." another says, "friends bring out different facets of our soul. They help us through the bad times and the good times better." A friend can be many things. It can be confidance, a lover, a shoulder to cry on, or an ear to listen. Whatever it is, friendship is a unique bond that lasts through it all.
A lover, on the other hand, is someone you want to share your body and soul with. It is someone who exhibits romance and shows you that they love you. They give you the best of themselves and will risk anything to be with you. They will always try to do their utmost and support you in every way possible. It is someone you trust your heart with, hoping they'll never break it. A lover is always there to comfort you and to protect you from all harm. They are gentle and tender with you. They display physical affetion, and treasures each moment of passion. They will always open their heart to you. They can be your best friend, always there to talk to and depend on. A lover will love you unconditionally, always accepting you for who you are. They will try to make you feel good about yourself, adoring your beauty and grace. Making you feel needed and important, as someone who means the world to them. A lover offers their heart, their soul, their body, and their self.
One describes a lover as "a person who is your most intimate friend, who knows you accepts you, but works to bring out the best in you." Another describes a lover as "someone who makes you feel alive inside."
One can be a lover, a friend, or both. Friends become lovers and lovers can turn to friends. Whether they be friends or lovers, all of them help mold us to the people we are today.
