I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings

Maya Angelou the author of the famous I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings and I Shall Not Be Moved. It is an exceptional autobiographical narrative...a beautiful book. Angelou tells an involving memior of her life's story. This is a quote from a writer know as Julian Mayfield."A work of art which eludes description because the black aesthetic-another way of saying the black experience-has too long been neglected to be formalized by weary cliches...Anyone who doesn't read Maya Angelou doesn't want to know where it was, much less where it's at." She has a unique way of writting the books, Angelou put feelings in her writting to make it more real.

Marguerite(Maya Angelou) and Bailey Johnson Jr. was from Long Beach, California,en route to Stamps,Arkansas. Marguerite's mother had sent her and her brother to live with there grandmother. As time went by she started to call her grandmother momma. Living a life without a mother figure it was hard. Bailey and her went through many hard times, alone and bad.

"Thou shall not be dirty" and "Thou shall not be impudent" were the two commandments of Grandmother Henberson upon which hung our total salvation. After living with her grandmother for a while, there father had come to visit them and ask if he could take them with him. Maya didn't know what to do. But she went back to live with her father.

Just when Maya thought everything was ok things started to change again. The man who she thought to be her father figure was a totally different man in view. still working...... email me
