On-Line Journal
Working on-line is different from any other english class because not only are my teacher and peers reading my work but others who have decided to enter our world here at good 'ol Jamaica High. At the begining I was skeptical about doing my class work on-line because a lot of my work is personal but I learned to be open and to share my experiences , life stories, and feelings because there are many who have gone through what I've been through and there are others who might be going through the same experiences.
How many other high schools are working on-line like us? Our english teacher, Mrs.Mayo, has opened up our lives and pasted it onto the internet for the world to see. Is the internet a way for others to tap into our lives? What kind of people are reading our work? Can we be sure to be protected against any dangers out there in the cyber world? I guess we can only wait and see what comes our way.
Being wired onto the internet provides us with useful information via cyberspace. What usefulness is really shown when most of our work is copied and pressumed as someone elses? How about when someone e-mails us all and prints gossip about their fellow peers when the gossip can be proven false? What can we do to protect ourselves against vandalism?
