My Memoir
A Frienship Almost Lost....

"To making every day count." Mr.Segal stared at us both and said that he would leave us alone to talk. We turned to each other and looked at one another with pain in both our eyes. She said to me "what should we do?" I looked at her and told her that we need to sort everything out. I told her what it was that I felt went wrong in our friendship. We talked things over and we reached the "problem". A mutual friend was ruining the friendship between us. Mr.Segal continued to tell us that this "friend" wasn't a true friend like her and I are. We further went on to discuss how we need to take things slowly and go on from there. He told us to give each other a hug. She turned to me, teary eyed as we leaned in and gave each other the biggest hug. She wouldn't let go and neither did I. We were both almost in tears but she cried. That's the last thing in the world I wanted to see her do. We left his office smiling and talking and making plans about what to do about this "friend".

We're doing fine as friends, good friends at that. One question still looming in the dark corners of my mind - why did my "best friend do this to me?" She comes from a family of hardships, but I mean who doesn't? Every family has its ups and downs, but I hate it that she uses her disfunctional family as an excuse as to why her life is so messed up. She does nothing and has her family do everything for her. Her problem is that she doens't realize a good thing when she has it. What type of person would breakup a friendship for their own selfish reason? She has already jeopardized my frienship with Jesmar, which, luckily was salvaged, but now I see that there's a lot of problems between myself and other friends. All fingers point at Her.

I don't want to loose Her friendship but as many people have asked and pointed out, do I really want to be friends with someone who lies and decieves me as a friend? Its hard, you know, to let go of someone who has always been there for you in every imaginable way. I guess I'll stay friends with her but I'll keep my eyes and ears open. To anyone who bothered to read my story 'till the end, as the saying goes, "Choose your friends wisely." I live by this rule but at times my "friends" end up as my enemies. Just be careful as to who you trust and who you call your "friend" because the world is not a fairytale and not everyone is always as you percieve them to be. Also, be aware that looks can be decieving and usually, stick to your first impressions of people.
