Quote:"Freindship is the thread that ties one person to another, soul to soul."

Goodbye Message:"It's been a really long road and we've all travelled it.I couldn't have done the travelling alone and I want to thank everyone who helped me along the way. Everyone that I have meet at good 'ol Jamaica High has touched my heart in one way or another and I honestly will never forget each and everyone of you. Kissess!"

Believe it or not, I was a very shy person in elementary school. I spent my days socializing with those who spoke to me first and doing my work. I graduated elementary school and BOOM! Junior high school was a time of discovery and coming out of my "shyness". I was more involved with getting to know people and noticing guys. I also learned things the hard way through experience. I expected high school to be like it was on "Saved By The Bell". I expected everything to be picturesque but it turned out to be like every other school. People acting more mature and more grown up. Classes were the same and the work load doubled but I was handling it all very well.

When I was accepted into the Computer-Science Program at Jamaica High School, I was more than ecstatic. When I arrived on the first day, my heart stopped as I looked at how many people went here. Our school looked like a college campus. Anyways, everything on the first day went wrong. I didn't know my homerooom, id number, or have a schedule. Well, I found out who my homeroom teacher was and went to class. I met this sweet girl named Samirra, and we talked as Mr.Miller called out the names of the people for attendance. I wasn't called and I didn't have a schedule. So, he sent me down to Mrs. Shevells' office. She was nice enough to look me up in the computer and then sent me to the program office. I marched bravely down the hall, for fear that they wouldn't have a schedule for me, but luckily, they handed me my schedule. I went to my second period class and that was the beggining of my four year road in high school.

Jamaica has met most of my expectations, being that the teachers have guided me down a road to prepare me for life after high school. My freshman year was spent making friends from every place imaginable. Sure, there were the "cliques" adn all, but for me, I spent my time with those I loved being with, namely - Jesmar,Annie,Sadia,Jessica, and Zameer. Sophmore year was spent meeting new people and getting better aquainted with those I met the year before. Sophmore year I participated in Sing and had the best time of my life performing on stage. Junior year was a bad year for me. I was distancing myself with some friends, my parents separated and I had my heart broken a few times. But hey, that's life. Senior year has had its ups and downs for me. If you've read my memoir about my relationship with Jes then you know the worst part of my senior year. That's all in the past, though. This year has been one big party for me. I celebrated my 18th birthday with everyone I cherish and love, I'm doind much better (grades wise), and I've realized that I have such amazing friends that are irreplaceable.I have so many memories that i will carry with me forever. Although I've had one major heartbreak this year, I've learned that if it doesn't kill you, it only makes you stronger.

The teachers in Jamaica have really changed me completely. They're not anything like those in my other schools. They actually make the subject they're teaching interesting and worth paying attention to. Not to be or sound like a suck-up (for those of you reading this) but Mrs.Mayo has taught me how to become a better writer and I thank her for that. Also, a man I can never stop talking about- Mr.Segal, my guidance counselor, I love him for being there when I needed someone to talk to and for all the great advice that I took to heart and followed. The students at Jamaica- well, like I said, there are those that I know on a very personal basis and respect them and then there are those I was friends with but they ruined the friendship, and the third group- those I know buy face or name but never really had the chance to meet and talk to- I wish you all the best of luck in life.

As far as my goals go in high school, I have completed my four years and will graduate alongside everyone on June 26th. My goals were to do the best I could and to get out of high school as fast as I could, and guess what? I did it!

The career I planned on pursuing as of the age of five was to become a pediatrician. I had journied into discovering other fields such as child-psychology, marine biology, or child-law. I do plan to go to college and will be attending the University of Hartford in Conneticut in September. The feeling of being rejected is the pits but then getting that one acceptance letter out-weighs the rejections. You get all nervous as you open that "open immediately" envelope and your heart either stops as you read that you have been accepted or you cry as you read that "we regretfully inform you....". But hey, its all worth it when you get into a college.

I do plan to keep in-touch with all my friends and I hope that they will keep in contact with me as well.As far as seeing myself in 10 years, I plan to be married to Mark Bellille (just joking!). I plan to be a successful pediatrician, with a beautiful home, maybe kids, and happy. I also hope to maintain the friendships i have with people from high school and college.
