Do you think one's mans action could grately affect other people? Well it can, especially in the stories of the Oedipus Cycle. Two actions that affected others was when Oedipus kills his father and when Oedipus married his mother.
Unknowingly Oedipus kills his father and causes everyone to go through some hardtimes. Queen Jocasta lost her husband an dwas caused grief and Creon became king. The people of Thebes were affected with a plague and a spinx that terrorized the city. When Oedipus killed his father, even though he didn't know, he should have let someone know that there was someone dead just outside of the city of Thebes.
Once again Oedipus has done something to cause a reaction; Oedipus has married his mother. When everyone finds out about it Oedipus and his family take it the hardest. Queen Jocasta kills herself, Oedipus rips his eyes out of their socket as a penence for his crime and has Antigone lead him around until he dies. After his death Eteocles and Polynieces become rulers and kill each in battle. Oedipus should have wondered why the king Creon would give the hand of Queen Jocasta just by killing the Sphinx. He could have saved lives by doing this.
If someone was to do something that was outrageous wouldn't it affect you in great ways? The Oedipus Cycle gave two good examples, Oedipus kills his father and marries his mother, that proved how one mans actions can greatly affect other people.
