Just how exactly do we change the world? Just how exactly do we rid society of its ills? The one thing that is wrong in this picture is that we see the problem, but we never do anything about it. We just turn our heads and walk away from the situation. Or we see the problem, but we don't know what to do afterwards. What we have is a two things that we need the most to better our society: motivation and mentors.

We live in a superficial generation that cares about outer appearances and how many material things they can acquire with little work. Most teens our caught up in their own problems that they can't always focus on the social injustices that exist in the world and many just don't care. We lack a motivation to change the world. Which is funny because we teenagers have all this energy to spare? My solution is to find a cause. Then once you found that cause, invest some if not all your energy into that certain cause.

When I was young, I always looked up to those women who were genetically perfect with blonde hair and blue eyes. I wanted to be exactly like these women. Of course that was impossible because I am an Asian. As I grew older my picture of a mentor started to change. It is sad when older people who try to make a difference in this world are overlooked by those who earn millions of dollars just dunking a ball into a basket. Now those who actually get off there butts and do things worthwhile are rare. We need those people to help guide us and help us see what is right and wrong.

Rather than ask ourselves how this world came to be, we should go out and do something about it. Rather than complain about the horrible school conditions or pity those who live on the streets, we should do all we can to help better the situation. My two ideas may sound simple, but it can make a difference in changing the world.
