This Boy's Life by Tobias Wolff
Tobias Wolff is a skillful and clever writer who applied charisma to his memoir piece, This Boy's Life. The memoir started out with his mom and him taking a road trip from Florida to Utah after his parents made their divorce final. They wound up staying in an infested apartment building. Since they were just getting settled in Utah, Tobias's mom didn't have a job yet and he wasn't enrolled in school. When his mom finally did find a job, Tobias was left home by himself. He was fascinated with the gun that his father left behind. That didn't surprise me, though, because his mom was quite a shooter herself.
Tobias's mother was a very stong-willed and outgoing person. She had many suitors that wanted to date her, but only one of them she accepted. His name was Dwight. Dwight had a nack for doing strange things. He had a certain sequence to his actions. One day, he decided to take Tobias and his mother to Concrete,Seattle to see his house and children. Like Tobias's mother, Dwight was divorced. When they all reached the house, Dwight introduced Tobias and his mother to his daughters, Paula and Norma, and his son, Geoffrey. Dwight was intent on marrying Tobias's mother, but she wasn't sure if she wanted to marry him. So, Dwight came up with an idea. He suggested that Tobias stay in Seattle, attend school there, and spend some time getting to know him.
