SENSATIONS

I was inspired to write this poem after watching the movie Love Jones. For those who haven't seen it, Love Jones, starring Nia Long and Larenz Tate, is about a man who, under the circumstances, wasn't looking for love, but found it anyway. He is an aspiring writer who has been working for months to finish his novel. Nia Long, his lover, is an aspiring photographer who is trying to get over a broken relationship. When their relationship was on thin ice, they both went their separate ways. However, they eventually realized that what they were looking for was right in front of them.

The coastal sunset that blends with the joy of the mountains and the diamond sparkle of the bay,

Sets the mood of love.

When intimacy lies in the breast of mother nature,

Pouring its heart out with a joyous cry to the lover's of the night,

Giving them permission to add fireworks to the rainbow sky,

The mood is set for love.

Modesty had no power,

When the heart holds the truth,

Of sensations nourished deep in one's soul,

Trying to break free,

The breath of words spoken

Can only be felt,

When the glass eyes of the significant other

Hears voices telling me,

I'm in love.
