Chicken Soup For The Teenage Soul

This book was written by Jack Canfield,Mark Victor Hansen, and Kimberly Kirberger. It contains stories of life, learning and love in the life of teenagers. As a teen myself reading this book has made think different about the way I live my life and about others, and the all the stories in this book are true, some of which will make you laugh and cry. When I read this book for the first time it seemed that there was a story for everything, like falling in love, arguing with parents, death, denial, success overconing shyness and surviving suicide....etc.I think everyone who needs to hear a story that descrides their life especially teens should definately read this book.In chapter one the topic is on realtionships which we have all been throuh sometime in our life and though all may not work out to be the perfect it's an experience that we've all had.The quote below was taken out of the book Chicken Soup For The Teenage Soul, and when I read it it described the meaning of a relationship and this is how it goes.

Relationships-of all kinds-are like sand held in your hand.Held loosely, with an open hand, the sand remains where it is.The minute you close your hand and sqeeze tightly to hold on,the sand trickles through your fingers. You may hold on to some of it,but most of it will be spilled.A relationship is like that.Held loosely, with respect and freedom for the other person,it is likely to remain intact. But hold too tightly, too possessively, and the relayionship slips away and is lost.

Kaleel Johnson,The Nibble Theory

The poem below is entitled LOSING THE "US",and it is so true
about what we sometimes learn from a relationship. And this is how it goes.

When an emotional injury takes place,
the body begins a process
as natural as the healing
of a physical wound.

Let the process happen.
Trust that nature
will do the healing
Know the pain will pass,
and,when it passes,
you will be stronger,
happier,more sensitive and aware.
