The Color of Water is a very interesting book.It tells you things about what happened in the early 1900's and how it's different from the late 1900's.It's different because in the early 1900's the white people wasn't able to date black people,because if they did the black man will get killed and they will drive the white girl out of the town.In the late 1900's white and black can date each other without getting hurt or killed or shamed.They can go freely without anybody's opion and questions.
Ruth Mcbride Jordan is a very strong and independent woman
she raised twelve children with the help of her two husbands.Her first husband's name was Dennis Mcbride and she had 8 kids by him,after Dennis died she was married to Hunter Jordan for 14 years and had 4 more kids with him.When Hunter died she had to raise twelve children on her own with little help from her frinds.That's wh i said Ruth is a very strong and independent person because she had 12 kids and she had ro raise them on her own.I don't think I could have don ethat without the help of others.that's why I commend her.When Ruth was just a small child her father use to sexually abuse her and even then she didn't let that get her down.
James Mcbride has a lot of talent.I think he is a very good writer and if the things that happened to im didn't happen i believe he wouldn't have anything interesting to write about.I think that James Mcbride should write another book about how his family is now and how they are succeeding in life in the year 2000.
