ABOUT THE AUTHOR
John G. Nyuot Yoh obtained a Bachelor of Arts in
Political Science, August 1990, and a Masters of Arts
in Modern Middle Eastern History, February 1995, both
from the American University of Beirut (AUB), Lebanon.
Yoh is a PhD candidate in International Politics at
the Department of Political Sciences, University of
South Africa (UNISA), Pretoria, Republic of South
Africa. His doctoral research topic is: "The
Institutional Role of the Organization of African
Unity (OAU)/African Union (AU) in Conflict Resolution
in Africa, 1965-2002)".

- Conflict management and resolution in AAfrica;
- Pan-Africanism;
- the Organization of African Unity (OAU))/African Union (AU);
- New Patnership for Africa's Developmentt (NEPAD)/African Renaissance;
- international relations/politics;
- US-African relations;
- Afro-Arab relations;
- Euro-African relations;
- African modern history;
- comparative political studies;
- Sudanese political history; and
- Christian and Muslim political history in Africa.
Areas of Focus:
- Conflict management and resolution in eeastern and central Africa;
- democracy, governance and human rights in Africa; and
- strategic and national security issues in Eastern and central Africa.
