The Lord
Jesus Christ in the Holy Bible
After His death, burial and resurrection our Lord
Jesus Christ spoke to the two friends walking to Emmaus, “And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to
them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.” (Lk. 24:27) The
Lord also spoke to His disciples in Jerusalem.
“Then He said to them, ‘These are the
words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be
fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the
Psalms concerning Me.’ And He opened their understanding, that they might
comprehend the Scriptures.” (Lk. 24:44-45)
There is a scarlet thread running
throughout the Old Testament telling of a coming Messiah who would deliver His
people from their sins. This is the Lord Jesus Christ (Yahweh Yahshua ha
Messiah). From the time of His
birth to His ascension into heaven (as recorded in the four Gospels of Matthew,
Mark, Luke, and John), we see the fulfillment of these prophecies. From the book of Acts to Revelation, we
continue to see the Lord Jesus Christ with all of His glorious attributes
beautifully interwoven into the passages of Scripture.
