Welcome to Oslo's Page!

Oslo is a labrador retriever. She is a retired breeder dog for an assistance dog organization in California.

Oslo's puppies will enter into a training program that will prepare them to work as assistance dogs for people with disabilities other than blindness.

Oslo stays with us the entire time she is pregnant, and after the birth of the puppies as well. We assist with the whelping process, and care for the puppies for about 8 weeks. At that time the puppies are turned over to the assistance dog school. The puppies are then sent out to puppy raisers all over the United States, where they begin the early stages of training to become assistance dogs.

Oslo's litters will each be assigned a letter of the alphabet, and all the puppies will be named with names beginning with the litter letter. When we mention the "R" litter for example, it simply means that was the litter assigned the letter "R" and all the pups have "R" names.

Pupdates!

July 2002

We are pleased to report that Rinelle, the puppy from Oslo's first litter that was sent to Guide Dogs for the Blind, has graduated! Rinelle is now a working guide dog. At left is Rinelle (right) with brother Rusky (left).

August 2002
Two more of Oslo's puppies, Rayni & Ryce, have graduted and are working as assistance dogs! Congratulations to their puppy raisers and new partners!

October 2002
Oslo's daughter, Branda was selected as a new breeder dog.

Our "H" litter has been turned in to go out to puppy raisers, and Oslo is now a retired breeder!

November 2002
Raley, our fifth born puppy from Oslo's first litter, graduated this month! We are so proud of Raley and his puppy raiser family! Congratulations to Raley's new partner!
