Key Lime Pie Martinis

 

Sugar for rimming glasses

4 limes

1 T. sugar

½ c. boiling water

6 oz. vanilla vodka

1 oz. Cointreau or Grand Marnier

1½–2 c. crushed ice

 

Sprinkle some sugar onto a small plate.  Cut limes in half and squeeze into a juicer.  Dip rims of 3 large martini glasses into the juice and then into sugar.  Set aside.

 

Combine 1 tablespoon of sugar with the boiling water until dissolved.  Add lime juice, vodka and orange liqueur.  Pour into large cocktail shaker about half-filled with crushed ice.  Shake and strain into prepared glasses.

 

Careful, these will really “conch” you out.
