| Lair of The Dragoner's Apprentice |
| Through the forest you wander, pressed ever onward by fleeting glimpses of a small green dragon. One question floating around in your mind as you walk is 'why do I follow?' The answer is simple: irrepressible curiosity. Why would a dragon be flitting about in these woods? Something interesting must be nearby and you intend to find it, no matter the distance that needs to be traveled. At intervals you can feel the eyes of woodland creatures tracking your movements. You finally turn around to see where they are...and almost bump into them. A small squirrel with an extremely bushy tail, a large rabbit with rediculously floppy ears, and a graceful unicorn with hide the hue of silken moonlight are less than two feet away from you. |

| The squirrel looks up at you with large orange eyes and darts behind the unicorn, followed by the rabbit. Looking into your eyes, the unicorn speaks into your mind. Why have you come to this place? You blink hard and sit down heavily on the soft moss covering the forest's floor. What was going on here? There weren't supposed to be any unicorns in this forest. |
| Mentally sighing, the shimmering equine picks up on your thoughts and your reasons for being here. Nodding to herself she says, So you wish to see something interesting. Well, she's certainly that. I suppose she arranged for this to happen and I should probably go along with it. Very well, my name is Morgan. If you care to satisfy your curiosity then please follow me. Even more confused than you were before, you follow Morgan as she begins to wind her way through the forest. What did she mean that this was arranged? And who was 'she' anyway? You look about you with some misgivings as the forest darkens and shadows give an eerie cast to the towering trees. It's already evening and you still have no idea where you were going. Ignoring the throb of your aching feet, you press on. |
