Another 168% upscale of one of my favorite classic Estes kits. The design of the USS Atlantis was heavily influenced by the original Star Trek television series. Construction is traditional large model rocket techniques. The motor mount is a 24mm and the Atlantis usually flies on D12-5 motors.
The decals on this model were made by myself rather than custom ordering. I had a scan of the originals from JimZ's website . I did some editing in Photoshop to clean then up then enlarged and printed them on my inkjet printer on to high grade photo paper. Transfering them to decal paper was accomplished at Kinko's on their laser copier. The results are very good.
This model is definitely an eye catcher and especially more so at the enlarged scale.
