Computer Graphics - DAZ Studio

The company that puts out the Bryce 3D software I enjoy using also has another software, called DAZ|Studio. It's similar to Poser, except that it's FREE from the
DAZ website!
I was extremely slow to get started with it, because I went crazy when I first discovered it and downloaded boatloads of free add-ons, which I then couldn't figure out how to use and so lost interest. (That's me - instant gratification, or nothing!)
However, I went back to it and actually started reading through some tutorials on how to use it (the "official" manual didn't inspire me much at all but I found an excellent beginners' tutorial which finally got me started.
The first thing to get me excited about DAZ|Studio is that now I can create figures to import into my Bryce scenes. And that's what I did at first, the characters I created were used in my Bryce scenese. But then, as I learned more about the power of DAZ|Studio, I started created more detailed scenes right in DAZ itself, without exporting the characters to Bryce.
The really fun part of playing with DAZ is the bazillion of poses and facial expressions you can put on your characters. That's where the artistic skill comes in -- creating an end product that looks realistic.
I joined a new group specifically for artists who work in DAZ|Studio called Dazney Land. Dazney Land is a great group, and a great resource for DAZ|Studio artists. It's funny, but I am just now beginning to consider myself an artist.
I've created a gallery of images of the images I'm now able to create in DAZ. You can click on the thumbnails to see the full sized image. As in my Bryce Gallery, the most recent images are at the top of the page. Older images are lower down (and eventually I'm sure there will be more pages for them) You can track my progress as I learn about this powerful program.

In addition, you can already see some of these same characters now, in my Bryce Gallery.
