The Garden Project

I had already used hosepipe to mark out where I wanted my flowerbeds to be around the edges of the garden. So, after half a day preparing the ground, dad was ready to start laying the sod, or turf as it is called in England. The most suitable turfgrass for my area is St. Augustine, a rather thick-leaved warm weather grass that withstands the intense summer heat here. To mum and dad's disappointment, it actually goes dormant (and brown) in winter, so the instant green effect they were hoping for didn't happen with quite the same oomph.
