The Garden - Early Summer 2008
As my moving date approaches, I get very emotional at the thought of leaving this little garden behind. I've put so much into it, it's hard to think about it not being taken care of in the future. All I can do is make the most of these last few months here and hope that future owners love it as much as I do.As if the garden knows I won't be here much longer, it seems to be pulling out all the stops to make an impressive display that I will always remember.
These daylilies are putting on a magnificent display in both the front and back gardens. I'm contemplating digging them up and taking them with me.
Once again, the Althea/Rose of Sharon (Hibiscus syriacus) is putting out hundreds of blooms. Unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to move this one, since it's got a fairly extensive root system, but since it grew so easily, I'll be able to get another one and plant it at the new house.
I also want to get some different varieties of hibiscus, since they remind me so much of our honeymoon in Kauaii.
The Hypoestes is self seeding in between the cracks on the patio. With these pots, and the ferns in the photo below, we'll have plenty of plants to take to our new patio.
