Chapter 3

Author's Notes: Hey everybody. I'm really sorry about taking so long getting this chapter up, and I apologize okay? I'm sorry I made you all wait. It's just that I been really busy trying to keep up all of my school assignments. And if you met my teacher, you would think so to. So please forgive me. Anyway, I'd like to thank everyone for the reviews. You guys are awesome. Now, On with the long awaited Chapter 3!!!

Disclamer: What are you kidding me?! You don't honestly think….Oh my god you did!!! I'm sorry to break it to you.

*********

"Ken? I really need to talk to you." Yolei said.

"Oh really?" Ken replied calmly. "What about?" He knew perfectly well what she wanted to talk about. He had a feeling that she knew that he knew too.

"Yeah, I really need some answers from you." Yolei replied a less confident than before. The reason for this? Simple, she noticed how Ken looked and acted so calm and uncaring. 'Maybe I should just forget it. He doesn't even care! He's so calm and distant. That must only mean that he doesn't care about me anymore. Or even worse, maybe he never liked me in the first place and only went out with me because he felt sorry for me. Or maybe, Oh god no, maybe…maybe he found someone else. Well I had to see it coming, after all, he has girls swarming around them everywhere. They would just love a chance for me to let him go. Oh no, that's probably it.'
"Oh…well…" he stuttered lightly. One good thing that came from his little experience from being the Digimon Kaizer was that he had learned to hold off his emotions. He was positive that if he hadn't, he would have taken her in his arms and refused to let go. But he didn't. If he wasn't careful, he'd lose his self-control. With this beautiful girl standing in front of them, who wouldn't!

To the people passing by, it looked as if they were just standing there facing each other, yet still completely obvious to each other's presence. Well actually most of it was true. Yet they both knew very well that the person that held their heart, happened to be right in front of them. Yet, they just stood there, thinking. Yolei, about why Ken dumped her, and Ken pondering about how he can avoid telling her.
Ken really didn't want to tell her. The last thing he wanted was to tell her what was going on. He didn't want her pity. Well that's what he wanted to believe was his excuse anyway. Deep down he knew that it wasn't true. He really wanted her to care. It would be great to know that she cared for him like he did her. Oh how he wanted to have her forever and live with her happily ever after. He loved her. She was his world. That was why he had to make sure that she would be happy. He couldn't bear himself if he ever knew that he had done anything to hurt her. He had to leave her. So she could recover quicker and wouldn't suffer through any spare feelings if 'IT' happened. Gods he really didn't want it too though. But for now, this is the only option he had. He just wished that if he got lucky and 'IT' didn't happen, well he just hoped that she would take him back. But he wouldn't blame her if she didn't. She had turned even more lovely and beautiful and gorgeous (and well you get the idea…) than she had ever been. With a beautiful figure and pretty face, not to mention a bubbly and outgoing personality, needless to say, she had many fans and admirers. Most of them with a "horomone problem." He frowned a little bit while thinking about that last thought. But then again, Yolei, being as stubborn as she is, would probably really worry about him and go against his wishes if he told her. But that's one of the reasons that he admired her and you can't help but love her for it though.
Well maybe he should tell her. Or maybe not…
'ARG!!!' he thought to himself. 'This is very frustrating!!' Maybe he should ask someone…but who? No wait, maybe if he told her than she would do as I ask and forget me. If she refuses I'll…I'll…do something… I'll tell her.

"Miyako?" he asked slowly.
"What? Oh, yes Ken?" She said a little startled.
"I would just like to explain for my behavior of the last few days." He replied with a confident tone.
"Really?! I mean, ok, go ahead." She said excited. He was finally going to tell her!!
"Well you see…." He started he didn't get very far because just then… (A/N: Jeez I'm evil! I'm sorry it's just that this was the perfect set-up it was just to tempting!)
"Hey guys!!!" Daisuke, or more commonly known as Davis, interrupts them at the worst time, being completely obvious to this of course.
"So what's going on?" he said not bothering to notice the not-so-friendly-glares coming from his friends.
"Um…" Ken said not sure of how to handle this situation. But fortunately for Ken, he was saved when his other fellow digidestined joined them.
"Hi everybody!" Takeru or better known as TK said cheerfully.
"Isn't it the nicest day today?" Hikari or Kari stated more that questioned.
"Sure is!" said Iori or Cody to friends.
"Uh…you know what? Can I talk to you guys about something?" Ken asked Davis and TK. "There's something that's been on my mind for a while." He decided that he was going to ask them to help him because he knew that he could always trust him.
"Sure." They said in unison.
"How about we go to my house?" Ken asked them.
"Ok, let's go." Davis replied
"See ya later you two!" TK replied before they left.
Pretty soon they were out of sight.
Yolei sighed. Maybe Ken was going to tell them about his new girlfriend that he left her for. She felt tears swelling up in her eyes.
Kari, who had noticed Yolei's strange behavior, instantly knew that something was wrong, and she would bet her camera that it had something to do with Ken. She had to cheer her up and get her to talk about it. She wanted to help her friend. She hated it when she saw people upset and most of all when they turned out to be one of her best friends. 'I guess the Crest Of Light lives on huh?' she thought to herself with a smile. She decided that she'd help get Yolei through whatever it was that she was going through. She had an idea.
"Hey Yolei?" Kari asked.
"Yeah?" Replied Yolei unenthusiastically.
"How about we go to new little ice-cream shop downtown? My treat. It will give us a chance to talk. We haven't done that in a while. What do you say? Please?" Kari asked happily. She knew that Yolei couldn't resist ice cream.
"Uh, okay, I guess." She had nothing better to do so she might as well try and have some fun.
"Great! Let's go!" Kari said happily.
And they started walking downtown.

What to expect of the next chapter: It promises to be a good one! Yolei and Ken are both getting advice from their friends and are telling their side of the story. Yes Ken's reason will be included in the next chapter. Also, Kari, TK, and Cody are planning something. Stick around for the next chapter!
