Chapter Five OK, chapter five, hope you like this chapter. Back to the campground… “ Attention everyone!” A teacher spoke with a speaker. “ I have an announcement to make.” Everyone stopped what they were doing and gather together. “ Now, listen, make sure whatever you do, DO NOT go in the woods! It’s really dangerous in there, there are many dangerous wild animal in the woods, so be sure don’t go in there. Now you can resume whatever you were doing.” All the students resume their own business except for the digidestineds who stayed there still, no one moved they looked at each other with their eyes wide opened! Back to Ken and Yolei… Ken and Yolei walked back to the cave with some wild fruits that they picked from the trees. “ Haha! Really? That’s so funny!” Yolei giggled as they walked towards the cave. “ Yeah, funny isn’t it?” He replied happily. “ Then what happened?” Asked Yolei. “ Then I…” Ken stopped talking stared in the cave where they were. Yolei noticed Ken’s sudden stop switched her gaze to where Ken was staring at, her eyes wide when she saw a big grey wolf lying there in the cave. She moved closer to Ken, held Ken’s right arm tightly with her shaking hands, “ Ken…” her voice was shaking. Ken used one hand covered hers, “ Don’t worry Yolei, and stay calm.” He’s trying to comfort Yolei. “ Wha...what’s it doing here?” Yolei asked her voice was still shaking. “ I’m not sure, but it looks like it’s taking a break.” Ken answered. Then Yolei noticed something was wrong with that wolf, “ Ken, look! Its leg is injured, it looks like that it couldn’t move, and it’s in pain.” She said. “ Yeah, you are right! It probably been attacked by something. We have to do something, before it’s too late.” Ken replied. “ But…” Yolei’s scared “ Don’t worry if we help him, he won’t attack us.” Ken knows what was Yolei worry about. “ But Ken, how can you be so sure?” Yolei asked looked up at him. “ Just trust me. Please trust me.” Ken looked down into her sincere eyes. Yolei looked into his firm eyes, they were so blue and so deep. She then turned her head looked at the wolf that lying on the ground moaning in pain. She nodded. They ran to the wolf, Ken bent down, and gently took its injured leg, “ I will go find some herbs, you stay here look after him.” Ken said. “ Wait…” “ Don’t worry I’ll be back as soon as possible.” With that Ken stood up and walked outside. Back to the campground… “ Ken and Yolei are still in the woods, do you think they got lost?” Kari’s very worry. “ Don’t worry Kari, we can wait a little longer, if they haven’t come back after dinner, we will report to the teacher and they will go find them.” T.K. was trying to comfort Kari. Right now, they were sitting around a table eating dinner. T.K. was sitting beside Kari, Davis and Cody was sitting across them. Every one was worried, Davis felt very guilty. “ What if they never come back and we never find them? What if they…” Kari started crying softly, T.K. put his arm around her shoulder, trying to make her feel better. Cody looked at Davis angrily; Davis looked down and felt even guiltier. “ It’s all my fault… if I hadn’t been a jerk like I usually do… Ken and Yolei…” Davis stopped, he put down his spoon, “ That’s it! I’m going to find them! Right now!” with that he ran into his tent and grabbed his bag ran into the woods. “ What?! Wait! Davis!” Every one ran into their tent grabbed their bags and ran after Davis into the woods. “ Davis!! Wait for us!” T.K.  yelled as he ran, Kari and Cody followed behind. “ Hey, what are you guys doing here?” Davis stopped running and turned back to see the others. “ What do you think?! Are you crazy, running into the woods like this? What if you got lost too? Or worst!? Come on let’s go back now.” Cody said as he trying to catch his breath. “ No! I’m not going back! Not until I find Ken and Yolei!” Davis said. “ But Davis…” Kari was trying to change Davis’s mind. “ Save it Kari, I won’t go back, if you guys are scare, you can go.” Davis said coldly. “ We are not scared Davis! We were just worried about you, all of us! What if we got lost or something?!” T.K. said. “ I won’t go back! I will find Ken and Yolei!” Davis explained. “ Then we are coming with you! It’s too dangerous for you stay here alone, and we are in this together, we should’ve stop you when you blurt out, but we didn’t. So it’s our fault too.” Kari said. “ She’s right Davis, we won’t leave you here alone.” Cody stepped forward. “ Really?” “ Yeah!” everyone nodded. “ Great! Now let’s get moving!” Davis said. Back to Ken and Yolei… About 20 minutes later Ken came back with some herbs and a wooden stick. Yolei turned back as she heard the steps. Ken put the herbs on the ground, then took out his handkerchief from his pocket gave it to Yolei, “ Could you clean this while I’m making the herbs Yolei?” Ken asked “ Sure.” With that Yolei took the handkerchief and walked outside the cave towards the river. After while Yolei has come back with Ken’s wet handkerchief, “ Here, Ken.” Yolei gave the handkerchief to Ken. “ Thank you Yolei.” He said as he took it. “ What are you doing Ken?” Yolei asked innocently. “ I’m grinding the herbs, I’m almost done.” Ken answered, grinding the herbs by using the wooden stick. “ Oh… I see.” She said as she nodded. “ Ok, I’m done, now what do we have to do is to clean his wound.” Ken said as he walked over to the wolf, he bent down and took its leg, used the wet handkerchief to clean the wound, then took some of the herbs that have already been grinded, smeared on its leg. The wolf moaned a little because of the pain. Yolei looked fixedly at him, ‘Ken…I…I like you!’ she thought as her tears began watery her eyes again. Ken seemed to noticed Yolei’s gaze, he turned his face, “ Something wrong Yolei?” Ken asked. “ Oh. Nothing.” She quickly turned around and forced herself not to cry. “ Ok. I’m done, he’s safe now.” Both of them looked down at the wolf, sleeping there peacefully, with Ken’s handkerchief on it’s injured leg. “ We better get some sleep too.” Ken said as he lay down on the ground. Yolei walked over and lay beside him, soon both of them fell asleep. Back in the woods where Davis and the others were… “ Davis is getting late, and it’s cold here, don’t you think we should go back?” Kari asked. “ Anything for you Kari.” Davis replied. “ We will continue searching tomorrow, now let’s go back.” T.K. said. “ Good idea.” Everyone nodded. So four of them started walking back to campground. After 20 minutes they were still in the woods. “ Guys…how come we are still here, I don’t remember we went that far.” Cody asked. “ Do you think that we…” T.K. didn’t want to continue. “ Let’s just stop and sleep here.” Kari said. “ I think we should continue walking, we can’t stop here.” Davis said. “ But Davis, It’s cold and scary here and everyone is tired.” Cody reminded him. “ I know, we can’t stop here, we don’t have a place to sleep, even we do what if some wild animal appear during the night to attack us?.” Davis replied. “ Oh wait! I think I have a compass with me.” Kari quickly unzipped her bag and looked through her bag. “ Here! I found it!” She cheered as she showed the compass to everyone. “ Great then we can find our way back!” Davis said.  Davis’s holding the compass with one hand and leading the way, every one else was followed behind. They finally break through the woods, but they weren’t back to the campground…they were at a cliff, the same one that Yolei and Ken jumped off from. Everyone was shocked with their eyes and mouth wide open. “Um…Davis…How come we are here?” T.K. asked. “ I…I don’t know…” Davis replied. “ Didn’t you follow the compass?” Kari asked. “ Yeah…I did. We suppose to go north right?” Davis replied. “ Yeah…and how come we are in south?” Cody asked. “ Give me that.” T.K. grabbed the compass from Davis. And he’s face filled with anger as he looked at the compass. “ Davis you JERK! DON’T YOU KNOW HOW TO USE A COMPASS?!” T.K. yelled at Davis angrily. “ Of course I do! Why?” Davis asked him innocently. “ We are at south right now! We should go the opposite way!” T.K. got even angrier when he saw that look on Davis face. “ How come?” Davis got no clue. “ Oh! Never mind! Let’s just settle down here for tonight, we can’t go back now, Kari is really tired. We have to sleep.” T.K. gave the compass back to Kari. They took out their sleeping bag and fell asleep soon… Ok… that’s chapter 5, hope you liked it. Sorry for any grammar mistake. I actually saw a boy who has a pair of eyes like Ken’s, they were so deep…and dark…they are not blue though…and he has a gorgeous smile just like Ken~~.
