"Where You Are"
By: TheGoddessofDeath

A/N: Well, I got a CD on Sunday, and I heard this song on it. And it struck me TKxLU right away. Well, not much to say besides this is about Lady Une sorta lost about the whole Treize dying thing. Before Endless Waltz. Songfic to the song "Where You Are" by Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey. Isn't it amazing I write TKxLU like crazy, but I've never written a songfic for them? I've got tons of songs for them, don't worry ^^. And yes, I believe Anne is Lady Une's first name. She's not Middi Une for goodness sakes.

Disclaimer: Gundam Wing is mine all mine in my fantasies. So is this song. But in the real world.....reality bites....I have no ownership to either. But, Lady Une's Dog, Maxie is mine ^^.

Dedicated to Lady Jayde Une, who always says there should be more TKxLU and ZMxLN fics out there! I totally agree! This one's for you girl!

The snow fell silently before her. The streetlamps had come on hours ago, yet it still seemed dark to this woman. Lady Une walked down the icy sidewalks, snow falling endlessly. The wind ran through her long brunette hair, and she shivered. Christmas was approaching quickly, almost a year since that horrible yet wonderful day. The day the war ended. The day her love had died right in front of her eyes. A warm tear fell onto her cold cheek. "Treize-sama..." As the lights and sounds of the city faded behind her as she entered the suburbs, she thought of her beloved Treize. She looked up to the sky for a moment, the snow whirling softly. "Treize, where are you? I'm so lost..." More tears streamed from her chocolate brown eyes. She continued to walk, but stopped as a warm wind enwrapped her whole body for a few seconds, and then was gone. In those few seconds she had felt him near. "Treize......"

~There are times
I swear I know you're here
When I forget about my fears
Feeling you my dear
Watching over me
My hope sees
What the future will bring
When you wrap your wings
And take me~

The houses all looked the same to her. She didn't even glance up to them as she walked to her small townhouse. She unlocked the door and dropped all her stuff on the kitchen counter. She was greeted by her German Shepherd, Maxie. He pranced around her and barked, his tongue hanging out. "All right Maxie, calm down." Lady Une decided once the war ended, since Treize had died, she needed someone to keep her company. Since she was allergic to cats, she got Maxie. Maxie was very well trained. But there was one weird trait about him. Every night when she came home, he would greet her, then run upstairs and bring her a rose from her rose bush she had in her sunroom. There was no telling why he did that. But, she found it charming, so she called him her "furry Treize." It was late that night, and she was exhausted. She was not in the mood for dinner. She went to her room, Maxie trailing behind her. She didn't even bother changing out of her uniform. She collapsed on the bed, Maxie jumped up right next to her. She smiled at her furry companion and fell asleep.

~Where you are
Where you and I will be together
Once again
we'll be dancing in the moonlight
Just like we used to do
And you'll be smiling back at me
Only then will I be free
When I can be
where you are~

The night air was cold and crisp as it blew silently over the field. The moon shone brightly as it was full. Anne looked at the pale grass. The mansion she had seen so many times and had never seen since the war, was behind her a few hundred yards. The moon shone on her pale face, making her look like a ghost. She smelled a familiar fragrance. Roses filled her head and she looked toward the mansion. "Lady...." She saw the tall man she had devoted her life to. Treize Khushrenada walked toward her slowly. He looked like a majestic, crossing the land slowly toward her. She blushed softly in the moonlight, not like he could've noticed anyway. "Treize-Sama..." He placed his hands on her waist, and she wrapped her arms around his neck. "You are so beautiful in the moonlight...." he kissed her neck softly repeatedly. "But, you are beautiful all the time." He kissed her forehead and she felt her heart quicken. "Lady, may I have this dance?" The wind picked up a little and blew her hair softly around her shoulders. "Of course, Treize-Sama." He led her in a slow dance to the soft melody of the wind. "Lady, you don't have to call me Treize-Sama. You can call me Treize. My lady should be able to call me my informal name." She blushed a little brighter than last time as he continued to lead her. Once he stopped, she dragged his head down to hers. "I love you, Lady..." They shared a soft kiss, but Lady Une awoke to Maxie licking her face. "Maxie, stop!" Maxie panted and wagged his tail. Only a dream....Only a dream.

~And I can see your face
Your kiss I still can taste
Not a memory erased
Oh, how I see your star
Shining down on me
And I'd do anything
If I could just
be right there~

Lady Une didn't notice how hungry she was until after she had showered and fed Maxie. She fixed herself a bowl of cereal and sat down slowly. She thought about her dream she had last night while shoveling corn flakes in her mouth. Maxie had long finish his breakfast and was staring at the woman shoveling cereal slowly into her mouth, eyes half closed, and her chin in her other hand. Lady Une chewed and swallowed almost unconsciously as she was eating. Treize was on her mind. The last line in her dream had echoed in her head. "I love you, Lady..." Lady Une was still trying to eat long after the bowl was empty. Maxie, being very smart, noticed and barked at her. Lady Une looked at the bowl in her trance and then noticed she had eaten breakfast, and was probably late for work. Again, the rose scent filled her head. 'Treize-Sama, forgive me.' She put the bowl in the sink, opened the back door so Maxie could walk in and out at leisure, and then walked out the door while trying to put her jacket on.

~where you are
Where you and I will breathe together
Once again
we'll be dancing in the moonlight
Just like we used to do
And you'll be smiling back at me
Only then will I be free
Then I will be free
so take me where you are~

She unlocked the building and walked in. She traveled up the elevator, passing every floor hurt her for some reason. When she reached the 13th floor, she walked to her door. She looked at the door. On a gold plate read her name "Lady Anne Une, Preventer Leader."  It also had the room number on it, 1302. She unlocked the door and walked in. The room was dark, even with the big window in the room. She drew the blinds up slowly. The cloudy sky brought her pain. The snow that had fallen the night before lay trodden only a little bit. She stared down and saw Noin entering the building with Sally slowly behind her. Noin was very upbeat considering Milliardo was "dead". Sally was supposed to start the search around colony X-18999 for any trace of Neo Titanium today. Noin would stay here on Earth. Lady Une looked to the sky again and snow started to fall softly again. "Treize-Sama....please tell me...are you there?"

~Now baby there are times when selfishly
I wishing that you were here with me
So I can wipe the tears from your eyes
and make you see
That every night when you are dreaming
I'm here to guard you from afar
And anytime I feel alone
I'll close my eyes and dream of where you are~

Treize glanced down from his perch upon the clouds. He had been watching Lady Une every single day since he had reached this place. He wanted her with him, so badly it hurt. It pained him to see her so upset over him. "Lady, you don't have to be so upset over me. I need to be forgotten." Treize stared behind him at his wings. He knew she still had time on the earth, still had time to do things. He was pleased she never forgot him, and he would never forget her. Did she know he had come to her last night in her dream? Did she know every dream with him in it was in fact her being visited by him? He wasn't sure. But he would guard her and protect her even if he was gone from the world. "Lady, I am here waiting..."

~where you are
Where you and I will breathe together
Once again
we'll be dancing in the moonlight
Just like we used to do
And you'll be smiling back at me
Only then will I be free
Then I will be free~

Lady Une walked home that night slowly. She yawned bored as she rounded the corner. As the houses she lived near came into view, she looked to the cool sky once again. She knew Treize was dead, and she had come to face it. But, it had almost been a year. It had pained her not to be with him or see him for a year. She continued to walk as she stared at the sky. She was knocked out of her trance as she heard Maxie bark. From all the way down the block. She ran up the icy stairs to her house. "Maxie hold on!" Hearing him bark struck fear into her heart every time it bellowed in her ears. She unlocked the door, her hand shaking as she tried to grasp the key. Maxie was barking uncontrollably. "MAXIE HOLD ON I'M COMING!" She flung the door open and the dog ran to her barking. "Maxie, what's wrong?" Lady Une looked around the whole house, the back yard, everywhere, nothing. Maxie was still barking uncontrollably. "Maxie, what is it?" Lady Une then remembered dogs have a sixth sense. Maxie had seen a ghost. Most likely Treize. Lady Une petted Maxie and he calmed enough so she could kiss his nose and hug him. She smiled to herself as she started to make herself a little dinner.

~Baby I still believe
Oh I gotta believe
I still believe
I will touch you that sweet day~

She ate dinner, again thinking about Treize. Maxie walked to her while she ate and dropped a rose in her lap. Lady Une smiled and added it to the vase on the table. "Thank you Maxie." He wagged his tail and barked happily. "Shh Maxie...It's too late for that." Maxie laid his head down on her foot and fell asleep. Lady Une read the newspaper. Reading that the president of the Earth Sphere Unified Nation was to make his Christmas speech. Of course she had been told to attend already. After all the president was funding her Preventers group. Noin would accompany her. Sally had not reported with anything yet from her search. Of course it was only the first day. Thinking of work hurt her mind. She got up, which awoke Maxie. She stumbled upstairs, Maxie right behind her. Lady Une looked out her small window at the sky once again. Never, in his whole year of death, had she looked at the sky so many times. She guessed it was because it was around the time his death happened. Tomorrow was Christmas Eve, his death day. Maxie laid on the bed, already half asleep. Lady Une stayed at the window until she got so tired she was dozing off on the windowsill.

~That you take me there
Where you are
I still believe
I gotta believe
I still believe
I will touch you that sweet day~

That scent of roses filled her head again as she laid herself down to sleep. Remembering the last line fro her dream last night, she only spoke one reply. "Treize, I love you too." She fell into a soft slumber. Treize flew down to his Lady's room, his silver wings sparkling. "Lady, my beautiful Lady. I am happy you answered my question. I loved you more than life itself, that's why I was so willing to give life up, but just because I am gone, doesn't mean I've forgotten you. I still love you more that anything in heaven or on earth. Good night my lady, sleep well." He then left, but let his spirit resound with her, for he belonged to her, and she belonged to him. In her dream, Treize had approached her and handed her a beautiful red rose, the most beautiful she had ever seen. "Treize it's gorgeous! It's the most beautiful one I've seen by far!" He smiled and kissed her cheek. "Lady, the rose is beautiful, but the most beautiful rose I've ever seen is you." And in her dream filled sleep, Lady Une smiled.

~I still believe......I still believe....~

OWARI

A/N: What do you think? Good? Worth a pat on the back? Or a total flop? Just so you know, I believe in heaven, and I believe in being visited by past people. And I also believe Lady Une's first name is Anne ^^. Tell me what you think. No flames without a good reason. Thanks.
