A/N- Hi guys! I'm back with another...you guessed it...Fred and Angelina fic! lol. But don't worry, George, Lee and the girls are in there too! ^^ I hope I did okay with this pre-graduation fic, seeing as I had to go back a full year and remember the full emotions of leaving school. I think I did alright...But I'd like to know what you guys think! Please R/R! I'd appreciate it beyond belief! Disclaimer- Nothings mine! All characters belong to J.K. Rowling, who is a better writer then I will ever be. And the song "Graduation" belongs to Vitamin C...or whoever orginally wrote/sung it. ^^ "NOW OR NEVER" It was a rainy day in April and all the students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry were to be found inside the castle. The Gryffindor Common Room was full of commotion, as students were playing Exploding Snap and talking. Fred and George Weasley were sitting in front of the fire with their friend Lee Jordan, discussing the joke shop they planned on opening when they graduate. **And so we talked all night about the rest of our lives Where we're gonna be when we turn 25** "Well, when we graduate this year, no doubt, we'll open up Weasleys Wizard Wheezes." Fred said matter-of-factly to his twin George. "Are your parents really going to let you do that?" Lee asked, knowing what the answer was going to be. "No," Fred and George answered at the same time, "But, that's never stopped us before." George continued, waving a dismissive hand. "Talking about that stupid joke shop again?" a voice said behind them. The boys turned around to see their friends Angelina Johnson, Alicia Spinnet, and Katie Bell standing before them. "It's not stupid." Fred protested as Angelina sat next to him on the couch. She had been very flirtatious with him since the Yule Ball. "Yeah, sure." Katie laughed as she took a seat in one of the chairs. **I keep thinking times will never change Keep on thinking things will always be the same** "I swear, you guys will still be talking about opening that shop 5 years from now," Alicia said sitting down on the floor in between George and Lee's arm chairs. "Seriously," Angelina agreed, shaking her head, "You guys will never change. You keep talking about how your going to open up Weasley's Wizard Wheezes...but you'll never get around to it." **But when we leave this year we won't be coming back No more hanging out cause we're on a different track** "Yes we will!" George protested, "We're really taking this seriously!" "Yeah," Lee chimed in, "This is our final year and we need to do something with our lives." "And the joke shop is it." Fred nodded, "After graduation we'll probably be going in different directions, so we won't be hanging out that much, which will leave us with plenty of time to open up the Shop." **And if you got something that you need to say You better say it right now cause you don't have another day** "Yeah..." Angelina sighed. She hated it when someone brought up the fact that they were going in different directions. And they probably wouldn't see each other that much. "You okay?" George asked, noticing the expressionless look on her face. Fred looked at her and frowned slightly. He wondered when he should tell Angelina how he really felt about her. Sure they were dating, and flirted any chance they got, but it wasn't anything serious. In fact, he wanted to take their relationship to a more serious level, but he was too afraid to tell her. Afraid that she wouldn't take him seriously. But he figured that he needed to tell her sometime this year, seeing that it was their last year. **Cause we're moving on and we can't slow down These memories are playing like a film without sound** "Oh, yes." Angelina said, snapping out of her thoughts. "I just keep remembering things from our first and second year..." "Angelina doesn’t take graduations very well." Alicia sneered. "Hey!" Angelina chucked a pillow at her, "I do so!" "You liar," Katie smirked, "You get all weepy." Katie pretended to cry and George and Lee pretended to cry also. Angelina just sat there and raised her hand, showing a very rude gesture. "Hey! Thanks for that one!" Lee laughed. "No, but really," said Angelina, becoming serious, "You guys can't tell me your not getting flashbacks from out school years!" "Well, I must admit, I have. The year is just moving by so fast." George nodded. "My dear brother," said Fred solemnly, putting a hand over his heart, "I had no idea you felt this way." George stuck his tongue out at Fred, causing the whole group to burst out in laughter. Lee and George then started a game of Exploding Snap and Alicia and Katie went up to their dorm to look through some of Katie's muggle magazines. **And I keep thinking of that night in June I didn't know much of love, but it came too soon** Fred and Angelina sat there in silence, watching George and Lee's game. Fred was thinking back to the previous year in June. That was when he found out that the goofy feelings he felt when he saw Angelina wasn't just a school-boy crush. At the time, it came as a sudden rush to him. Him and Angelina were studying for their final exams in the common room, at 1:30 in the morning, and she just broke into tears. **And there was me and you and we got real blue Stay at home talking on the telephone, We'd get so excited, we'd get so scared Laughing at ourselves thinking life's not fair** He was startled when she started sobbing, right beside him. He tried comforting her by putting his arm around her but her sobbing continued. He felt bad that he couldn't do anything for her. He didn't even know what was wrong with her. Finally, her sobs subdued. He had asked what she was upset about and she explained about all the pressure her mother and step father were putting on her. She explained how her parents expected her to get near-perfect marks. How they wanted her to do well, because she only had one year left. He told her that she had nothing to worry about, how she'd do well. How she was taking her studies so seriously that top marks were the only marks she could possibly get. She had laughed at herself, telling him how sorry she was for cracking under pressure. Of course he didn't mind. He was happy to know that she was comfortable enough in front of him to be able to cry. But he didn't tell her this, he kept it to himself. Instead he just laughed with her, telling her that he was worried about his marks too. They both laughed at how unfair life was. It was then that Fred Weasley realized that the simple 'crush' he had on Angelina Johnson was no ordinary crush. It was much stronger then that. **And this is how it feels** Fred snapped back to present time and looked over at Angelina. She was looking at him curiously, head cocked to the side, smiling slightly. "What?" he asked, confused. "Nothing," she laughed lightly, sitting up straight, "You just looked like you were some sort of trance. Staring at the floor...I'm surprised you weren't drooling. It was kinda cute." He felt his face getting warm, "Well, good thing I take Divination, then, eh?" he said wiping his mouth, making sure that he didn't drool. **As we go on, We remember All the times we, Had together** "What were you thinking about?" Angelina asked. "Oh, uh, just things." he stuttered. "What kind of things?" "Just...times we've had together." Fred shrugged. **And as our lives change, From whatever We will still be friends forever** "I knew I wasn't the only one having flashbacks," she muttered triumphantly to herself. "We're still going to be friends right? After graduation?" he asked. She noticed that he sort of resembled a little puppy, afraid that it's master was going to leave the room. "Of course." she said softly, "Why do you ask?" "Well, I know you plan on doing some traveling after graduation. I just wanted to make sure you wouldn't leave me-us." he added, he didn't want to spill out his feelings right there at that moment. "I would never leave you guys!" Angelina said smiling. "Don't worry, Fred, it's going to take alot more then a bit of traveling to get rid of me!" she winked at him and he felt a sense of confidence. He knew she would be true to her word. **So if we get the big jobs and we make the big money When we look back now will our jokes still be funny?** Later that day, the group was sitting in the Great Hall during supper time, the topic of Weasley's Wizard Wheezes still amongst them. The girls still rolling their eyes at their plans. "You know, when we become rich and famous, all do to our brilliant minds, we'll still help pay your bills so you don't have to live in a poor house." George said to the girls as he served himself some potatoes. "Gee! Thanks George!" said Alicia sarcastically. "Chances are, you guys are gonna loose interest, and think your big dream is stupid, and wind up working for the Ministry." Katie smirked. "Us? Loose interest? Never!" Lee mocked. "Yea!" Fred shouted, "50 years from now, we'll still think our jokes are better then everyone else's!" **Will we still remember everything we learned in school? Still be trying to break every single rule** "Knowing you guys, you're probably right." Angelina sighed, shaking her head. During the rest of dinner, the girls kept their conversations amongst themselves. Keeping the topic of the future, they talking about the load of homework they had. And all the studying they had to do for the upcoming N.E.W.T.S. "Do you think we're ever going to use any of this stuff in real life?" Katie asked. "Nope," said Alicia, "Defiantly not. Nor will we remember any of it. And that's why we won't use any of it." "Here, here!" Angelina and Katie chanted, raising their goblets. All three chugged their pumpkin juice, Katie beating Angelina and Alicia, and laughed at how odd they all were. Katie looked over at Fred, George, and Lee, and said, "And later in life, the boys will still be breaking rules. None the less, laws." At that, all three boys looked over at them. It was a known fact that when someone was talking about breaking rules, they automatically knew it. "You girls just know us too well!" George smirked. **Will little brainy Bobby be the stockbroker man?** "And of course, prefect Davies, will get some job at the Ministry." Fred said, eyeing Roger Davis across the hall. "But, we'll still make more money then him." **Can Heather find a job that won't interfere with her tan?** "And Katie here, probably will never find a job that will only keep her outdoors," Angelina said, looking at Katie,” Therefore, her precious tan will falter." "What?" Katie gasped dramatically, "Then work, I shall not do! My tan means the world to me!" "Aye, Lady Katie speaks the truth!" Lee chimed in. At this, Katie flung a pea at him. The group burst into laughter. **I keep, I keep thinking that it's not goodbye Keep on thinking it's a time to fly** Angelina watched as Fred burst into laughter. She loved his laugh, deep, straight from the back of the throat. And his smile was to die for. Just seeing his smile always made her day better. And the way his eyes narrowed when he smiled, she loved everything about him. Angelina caught herself in her thoughts. She shook her head lightly and tried to push the thoughts of graduation out of her minds. The thought of graduation kept coming into her mind whenever she thought about Fred. She knew that she wanted to do a bit of traveling after graduation, and might loose contact with Fred. But she didn't like to admit it to herself. She didn't want to say goodbye. **And this is how it feels** A feeling of grief came over her as she thought about saying goodbye to all of her friends at Hogwarts, saying goodbye to Fred. She shook off the feelings quickly so no one would notice. Unfortunately, someone did. **As we go on we remember All the times we had together** After dinner the girls decided to do some homework while the boys continued to discuss their joke shop. Slowly, the common room emptied as people went up to bed. "That's it!" Alicia said, standing up, "I can't write or read anymore! This is all useless crap, and I'm going to bed!" "Cheers!" Katie shouted and both of them bid goodnight to Angelina and some other people who were still awake and went up to their room. Angelina stayed in the common room, finishing a Defense Against the Dark Arts essay she had been putting to the side for the past week. About 30 minutes later she heard Fred and Lee complaining about how tired they were and persuading George to give up on work and let them go to bed. "All right, all right," George laughed, looking down at Fred and Lee who were on their knees begging, "Go to bed you dung brains. I hate seeing you guys beg, you suck at it." "Yeah, well, you'd know about sucking know wouldn't you, George?" Lee sneered. "Shut up you arse!" George protested, throwing a pillow at him. "All right you two, stop being so immature," Fred said sarcastically, "You coming to bed, George?" "No, I think I'll stay down here for a little bit," he said glancing over at Angelina, he could tell something was wrong with her. Over the past 7 years, he'd seen her worried face too often not to know. And tonight at dinner he'd seen that face. (A/N- HA! You thought Fred was the one who noticed didn't ya? Don't lie! I know you thought it was Fred! Well it wasn't Fred this time! Okay, sorry!) "Yeah, yeah, suit yourself." Fred yawned as he and Lee went up the boys' staircase. **And as our lives change From whatever** There were only a few people in the common room besides Angelina and George but Angelina was too busy writing to notice. When George stood over her shoulder she didn't even notice his presence. She didn't notice him until he cleared his throat. "George! Merlin, don't scare me like that!" "Sorry," he said smiling to himself, "Can I talk to you?" "Yeah sure, have a seat," she said patting the seat next to her on the couch. "Well, I wanted to ask how you're doing." he said sitting next to her. "How I'm doing?" "Yeah," he sighed, "I mean, how your feeling...with graduation coming up and all." "Oh," her face fell, "Well...I'm fine..." "No your not," he said quietly, looking her in the eyes. Angelina swallowed, she knew that George was being serious. When George wasn't kidding around, you knew. The twinkle in his eyes left and his dimples abandoned his face. "Well...I..." she started. "You..." "I'm scared." she admitted, looking into the fire. "Scared of what?" he was very concerned about his friend. "Scared of graduating," she sighed, "I don't want to say goodbye to everyone, George. I don't want things to change." George noticed that Angelina resembled a little child. A little child who didn't want to go to school. A little child who wanted to stay home with her mother and have things stay the same. **We will still be Friends Forever** "Angelina," George started, putting a comforting hand on her arm, "Things will change, I can't tell you that they won't. But I can tell you for a fact that me and Fred will always, and I mean always, be your friends." "I know, but-" "But nothing. I know that Fred cares for you too much to loose you. And I care for you too, your one of my best friends, and we will stay in contact after we leave here." he finished, emphasizing the word 'will.' **La, la, la, la: Yeah, yeah, yeah La, la, la, la: We will still be friends forever** "You promise?" Angelina asked, smiling slightly. "I promise." George said, squeezing her hand. "Now have you ever known a Weasley that broke his promise?" "Um..." "Don't answer that." "Okay." Angelina laughed. After her and George talked she felt much better. She bid George goodnight and went up to her dorm to think more. **Will we think about tomorrow like we think about now?** When Angelina got to her dorm, she changed into her pajamas and laid in her bed and thought. She thought about how earlier that same day, she had told a worried Fred that she'd be around after graduation and now she was the worried one having George tell her that they'd still be around. She wondered how long this would go on. One day she would think positively, knowing that she'd stay in contact with her friends, especially Fred. But then the next day, she'd think differently. She'd think that they'd all loose contact. **Can we survive it out there? Can we make it somehow?** The next day it seemed that Angelina's negative thoughts were passed to Alicia. When she arrived at breakfast she looked sulky. "I hate graduation." Alicia muttered as she sat down. "Pardon?" Lee asked. "I said I hate graduation!" she snapped. "Why?" Katie asked. "Because I was thinking about the real world. How are we suppose to survive out there?" "By jobs." suggested Fred. "With money," George added. "Don't worry, 'Licia, we'll make it somehow." Angelina said defiantly. **I guess I thought that this would never end And suddenly it's like we're women and men** "Yeah," Alicia said smiling, "I made it through Snape's Potion class, I reckon real life can't be too much worse!" "Precisely!" Angelina agreed. "You know, when I first arrived at Hogwarts I thought it would be the 7 longest years of my life. I thought my school years would never end." said Katie thoughtfully. "I know, and here we are, a month away from graduating." George said nodding. "These 7 years went by too fast." said Alicia. "I agree." said Fred nodding, "Now we're all grown up and leaving Hogwarts. We're women and men now, well...some of us are more women then some." he added, eyeing Lee. "Hey! What are you saying?! That I'm a girl?" Lee said defensively. "Sure am!" Fred smiled. "Well, as women-ly as Lee is," Katie chimed in, "I believe he'll never look the part." "Well I dunno, Katie." said Angelina slowly, looking Lee up and down. "Hey! Your rack is better then mine!" Lee said to Angelina. "Thanks, Lee." she said sarcastically, growing red in the face, and crossing her arms across her chest. "Well, I have to agree with Lee on that one." said Fred, earning a playful smack upside the head from Angelina. **Will the past be a shadow that will follow us 'round? Will these memories fade when I leave this town** The month leading up to graduation had alot the 7th years acting different. Even Fred, George, and Lee were behaving in class, in fear that the professors wouldn't let them graduate with a bad record. They didn't want that to follow them the rest of their lives. Angelina, Katie, and Alicia started making scrapbooks. The boys thought the scrapbooks were a waste of time when the girls started asking them for their pictures, but they kept saying they wanted to remember everything, they didn't want to loose all the good memories. **I keep, I keep thinking that it's not goodbye Keep on thinking it's a time to fly** Finally, there were only 2 days left until graduation night and Fred and Angelina became more and more tense in each other’s company. Both of them wanted to tell each other that their relationship meant more to them then the other thought, but couldn't get the courage to say anything. Angelina was used to becoming nervous around guys that she liked, but this was Fred. Fred, her best friend. Fred on the other hand, was always good with girls. He was quite the ladies' man. But when it came to Angelina, being nervous came often. One night Angelina asked Fred to take a walk around the lake with her. She kept saying to herself, 'It's now or never.' She came to the decision that graduation wouldn't be goodbye for her and Fred, she wouldn't let it be goodbye. And she was going to tell him that, some how or another, even if it killed her. **And this is how it feels** "Fred?" Angelina said, taking his hand in hers, "We need to talk." "We need to talk?" he said, looking at her a bit worried, "What did I do?" "Nothing," she smiled, "I just wanted to talk about us." "Us?" "Yes. I...I..." she started to stutter. The butterflies in her stomach were back. **As we go on, we remember All the times we've had together And as our lives change From whatever** "I wanted to talk about us too." said Fred, noticing Angelina's over come of nerves, "Since we'll be graduating in a couple days, I wanted to tell you...how I feel." "That's exactly what I want to do!" Angelina said. "I don't know why I keep getting all tongue tied." she added thoughtfully. "Maybe it's because of the way you feel." "Yes...about you." "About me." Fred looked a bit put out. He looked a bit scared that Angelina was going to say something terrible. Angelina gulped and squeezed Fred's hand and said, "Your the first boy I've ever felt for, Fred." "Really?" he asked, a twinkle in his eye. "Yes. I don't know how you feel about me, but I feel that I could spend the rest of my life with you. I feel like your the one who knows me the most, better then myself. I don't think I could go on with out you." this all came out in a rush, Angelina's nerves were gone and now she was speaking from the heart. "I understand," Fred nodded, he looked Angelina in the eye and put both of his hands on her shoulders, "I feel the same way, Angelina. Ever since I was 13 I've flirted with every pretty girl I saw. But in our 4th year I started seeing you in a different light and I didn't want to hurt you. And when we started going out it was like nothing I've ever felt. I may be only 18 but I know that I've never felt for another girl, the desire and the passion that I feel for you." **We will still be friends forever. ** Angelina stared into Fred's serious eyes. She could tell he looked a little scared, he was always a bit frightened of himself when he got serious. "Fred, that's exactly what I've been wanting to say for the past 4 months." Angelina chuckled. "I feel this bond between you and I. And I wanted to take our relationship to a more serious level." "So do I." Fred nodded. "Angelina, you scare me sometimes, you know that?" "I do?" she asked surprised. "Your the only person I can be serious around. And that really scares me." "Don't worry, Fred. You being serious scares me too." Angelina smiled. "But that's what I love about you." "My seriousness?" Fred asked, leaning his forehead on her forehead. "Yes, that and everything else about you." she finished bringing her lips to his. He tasted wonderful. They had kissed plenty of times before, but this time something was different. Their kiss was soft and timid at first but it grew to be desirable and passionate. Figuring that they should probably get a room, Fred touched her chin softly, breaking their kiss. "I love you," he said truthfully. "I love you too." "Graduation isn't goodbye." he whispered. "I won't let it be." THE END A/N- Alright! PLEASE review! I would really appreciate it! And I'm not too sure if this plot bunny has been over used, but it kept hopping around in the back of my mind, and it just wouldn't go away! ^^ lol. Remember, REVIEW! `*Ashliegh*` |
