What if…? What if Zechs had arrived in time to save the Sanc kingdom the second time? This could be ‘short’ or rather long depending on how much people like this. Let me know what you think. I’m happy to have constructive criticism. This is mostly a Zechs/Noin fic with dashes of the others later. Some action but mainly romance. I have also taken several liberties e.g. Epyon doesn’t exist, Zechs repaired and upgraded Tallgeese to Tallgeese III – my favourite suit. Wing Zero is still floating around in space somewhere. Everything else up to this point is the same. Also this is my first Gundam fic so be gentle. By the by. I don’t own Gundam Wing or any related stuff. If I did I would be rather wealthier than the penniless student I am. Bandai/Sunrise or whoever do own it however. They are the wealthy gits. Chapter 1 : Restless Thoughts Zechs Marquise could not sleep. He was restless in bed, his mind occupied by one thought. Or rather thoughts of one person. She filled his imaginings when he had quiet moments and often intruded when he really should have been concentrating on other things. She had always been in his conscious. At the academy he had been a loner, an enigma to everyone around him. Then one day a girl with laughing eyes and an enchanting smile had decided she wanted to be his friend. Against his better judgement he had let her. In time they were inseparable. Always working together or being put together for their ability to work as a pair. After a particular fencing match she had become very important to him and he thought about her a lot when he wasn't near her. Since seeing her again at Victoria, though, it was near impossible to think of anything else. He hadn’t seen her for over a year then. One year and 22 days. One year and 22 days of loneliness. He hadn’t realised how much he’d missed her. Their reunion had been wonderful and they had quickly slipped back into their old routine of laughing and joking with each other. Her very presence had made him happier than he could remember being. A smutty grin spread across his face at what they’d done that night after talking in the club. *********************************** A year ago at Victoria Zechs turned from Otto when he felt something striking his sabre. He turned to see Noin striking his blade with her own, in a rather suggestive manner, with a content smile on her face. Zechs could only smile slightly at the memory the swords brought back as Otto asked “Sir, are you alright?” “Fine, thank you. Good work. Keep me posted.” He hurriedly ended the connection. “You’re repeating yourself Zechs.” Noin laughed. It turned into a gasp as he placed his hands on her waist and kissed her neck, causing her to shiver. “Well, I am being distracted by a gorgeous young woman” He murmured into the soft, fragrant flesh. “Noin? How are long are you going to torment me?” he asked spinning her on the seat to look at him, planting his hands on her thighs and gently massaging them. “Until you stop being the ‘Lightning Count’ and be Zechs Marquise. He’d have probably kissed me witless by now and have flung me into bed.” She looked into his eyes and he was almost scared by the want he saw in them. He removed his mask and kissed her lightly on the lips, drawing away when she tried to deepen it. He smiled and whispered to her sarcastically “But Noin, I don’t know where your bed is.” She grabbed his hand and nearly dragged him through the base to the zone of pleasure. Flinging him onto the bed she leapt on him and began removing his clothes. “Feeling frisky are we?” he laughed as she tore at his uniform. “Shut your mouth Marquise.” She laughed then considered this. “Or rather don’t.” and then plundered his mouth with her own, desperate for the taste of him. Zechs could do nothing but enjoy himself, so head-over-heels with her as he was. *********************************** Present That night had been breathtaking. In his arms she had become a conflagration of passion, nearly burning him with her desire to feel him against herself. His own desire had been like a supernova causing him to make love to her until that blasted Gundam had attacked. She had felt guilty, thinking she had been distracted but he had tried to deflect her blame onto him to ease her burden. All he wanted was to comfort and protect her. From everything. Asking her to come with him had seemed one of his better ideas at the time. For once he gave in to his selfish desire for her and the time she had travelled with him had been some of the most wonderful of his life. Having her near made his life blissful. Not the drab void it was without her light. It had been a mistake he now realised. It had drawn them even closer. Worse, he began to realise something he had fought against. He loved her. He had suspected it. When she had been shot down he felt like his heart had been ripped out. It was not until Antarctica that he began to accept it. When he told her to flee and protect Relena he also wanted to make sure she was safe. If she were near him, she would be in danger. He couldn’t allow his selfish desire to have Noin near him jeopardize her safety just as he couldn’t reveal his feelings, even to her. Not if he was to keep her safe. If Noin was harmed because of her relationship with him… He sighed in resignation. No, he couldn’t deny how he felt about her, at least in private, and his life no longer belonged to him. Not being able to hear her voice, see her smile or feel her arms around him left an aching pit of darkness in his heart that nothing was able to fill. Six months. Six months since he’d seen her. Six months in which he’d been lost and alone. No one else ever made his heart leap just with their presence. It was becoming hard to do anything because he thought about her so much. Dammit when did I start to need her like this? He thought desperately to try and fool himself. I don’t need anyone. It will only lead to heartache. Without her I am free. Free to act. I, Zechs Marquise. I…Alone… There was something about that last word that was ugly…and sad. Why did he have trouble accepting his feelings fully? Was he afraid of loving her? No. More he was afraid of her not loving him. If he told her and she didn’t return his feelings then he didn’t know what he would he do. Not only that, if he lost her…well, death would be his only release from the pain. Not only was his heart aching but his body ached for her as well. Many woman who worked for Howard had attempted subtle advances to the handsome young soldier. All had been firmly declined with as much tact as he could manage. All he wanted was his Lucrezia. Every night she entered his dreams in some erotic fantasy. He struggled in vain tonight, as he did every night, to not think of her. The impish grin and licentious eyes haunted his dreams. Oh who was he kidding? To not think about her like that he would have to be dead. He might as well see where his mind took him and enjoy it. Then he could pray that one day he got a chance to experience her once more. Lucrezia Noin also lay in bed thinking of just one thing, one person, as she did every night. Truthfully her thoughts tended to involve him and various items. Chocolate, handcuffs, an assortment of underwear and so on. Yet everyday she awoke alone, unhappy and frustrated. Oh yes she had friends in Relena and Quatre and various young men had attempted to ask her out. She had no interest in any of them. In one way she hated being with Zechs. That first night with him had ruined her for any other man. Nothing could ever match the sheer ecstasy of being with the man she had secretly loved since the day they met. Nothing could ever match the sheer joy she felt when she was near him. Thoughts of his sexy voice and dazzling smile, on the few occasions he did, crammed her mind. The way his hair would sometimes curl over his face. The way he looked at her during their lovemaking. The way he looked at her period. He could make her melt with a word. She couldn’t help blushing at the memories of some of the things they’d done when they’d been reunited at Victoria. She’d reminded him of the ‘fencing’ match they’d had so long ago when they first admitted their…attraction. *************************** 4 years ago “Noin do you want to join me in a fencing match.” He had asked her one day. “Sure. I could do with the exercise.” She smiled at him. She would take any excuse to be alone with him. He was her best friend. The fact she thought he was gorgeous, despite never seeing his face, was merely a coincidence of course. It had nothing to do with her wanting to get him all sweaty. The match had been typical. They knew each other well and were equally balanced. Her speed cancelling out his strength advantage. They always met late on to avoid any gawkers. Tonight, though, Noin was slightly distracted by his closeness. Her attraction to him was growing into a fixation these days and a glimpse of his eyes sent her mind into a train of thought about the rest of his face. It allowed Zechs to give her a blow that knocked her mask off and sent her to the floor. “Are you alright” he asked alarmed as he whipped off his fencing mask, dropping down next to her. “Yes I’m -“ she cut herself off with a gasp. Zechs was kneeling next to her with a look of anxiety on his unmasked face. He was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen. Striking eyes, the most delicate, yet masculine features added to his well formed lips and elegant chin to make a man who was more gorgeous than she thought possible. He was so handsome it was obscene that he had hidden it under that mask. “Zechs…you’re beautiful.” She whispered in quiet awe touching his face. She was astounded when he shut his eyes in pleasure. “Noin” he whispered. He took her hand in his and lightly kissed her hand. Then he took his heart in his mouth and bent forward to kiss her on the lips. She didn’t respond at first but when she did… She wrapped her arms around him and pushed forward pinning him to the floor. The moment she had dreamed about had finally come and she was going to enjoy every second of it. Zechs was dumbstruck. Beautiful, sensible Noin had turned into a brazen hussy at his lightest touch. So what? Don’t think. Enjoy it. “Noin.” He finally managed to get out, breathing heavily. She started kissing his neck causing a further loosening of his control. “We shouldn’t do this.” She stopped abruptly and slowly stood up looking embarrassment and upset, “I…I’m sorry Zechs. I thought you wanted me. I…I shouldn’t have done that.” She looked away but he was up in a flash pulling her so tight against him even air couldn’t have got between them. “Don’t doubt that I want you Noin.” He told her firmly, “I…I have for so long. I just thing more privacy would be in order.” He smiled sheepishly at her caressing her back. She looked into his face, wanting to kiss him again but knowing what that would lead to. “Come on.” She whispered taking his hand and leading him to her room. Once through the door they had fallen in a tangled mass of arms and legs on her bed. Noin again got on top, straddling him, kissing him furiously. “Your shirt.” She rasped, “Take it off. Please.” She helped as he smiled and pulled off the offending garment. She looked at him with delight and kissed as much of his torso as she could. “Zechs,” she mumbled, “I love your body. It’s so delicious.” Zechs squirmed in pleasure as she gently bit each of his abdominal muscles – he was going to have a lovely matching set of love bites in the morning. He flipped her onto her back, pinning her beneath him. “My turn now.” He whispered slowly popping each button of her top. Finally he removed it and then her bra and as he pulled back to look at her… “Noin” he whispered with all the reverence of a priest addressing his deity, “You’re beautiful.” “I want to be. For you.” She replied softly. After the last garments were forgotten he moved down her body kissing and caressing any flesh he could. He moved to the centre of her legs and gently lapped at her. She was so sensitised that she shot upright with a small scream as he bit at her delicate nub, digging her fingers into his hair. Noin collapsed back, feeling fluid as Zechs smiled against her and began to love her with his mouth. “Oh Zechs” she whispered in pleasure, over and over again before she once more fell over the edge. She gathered enough strength to pull him up to her and kissed him once more. “I need you in me. Now!” she demanded and Zechs couldn’t have refused her if he wanted to. He gently positioned himself at her opening and hesitated, “Are you sure Noin?” he wanted this to be all for her. “Now dammit!” she half yelled. He plunged into her, hearing her gasp in pain as she dug in her nails. “Are you alright?” he asked slightly panicked. “Yes. It’s just this is my first time.” “Noin, oh Noin” was all he could say. She had given him the most wonderful gift. “Make love to me Zechs” she pleaded, her eyes filled with desire. Zechs went as gently as he could. Slowly, we must go slowly. He wanted her enjoy this. To cause her pain was as agonising as being in her was delightful. “Don’t spare me Zechs. Give me everything. Make it so I can’t walk tomorrow!” She moved her hips against him faster and harder to emphasise her want. Zechs was taken aback. Was this wanton sex kitten the same Noin who always helped him with his arithmetic? He moved faster and faster. Plunging into her soft, receptive body. His control was tenuous at best but he struggled to wait for her. When she came it was with a shudder that nearly made her body lift off the bed and the clenching caused him to lose his control with a cry. “Zechs,” she tried to say but her breath only came in little gasps so instead she kissed him passionately. He looked at Noin as they parted. She was caked in sweat and smelt of sex but she was more beautiful than ever. Noin stared at him. He was magnificent. Wonderful. Gentle. Everything she had ever known or imagined him to be. She snuggled up against him, loving the feeling of him against her nude body. “Noin” he whispered to her and stroked her face before they both fell into the sleep brought on by extreme physical exertion. *************************** That had been their first time together but by no means the last. After that, ‘fencing’ became a double-entendre for them. Any opportunity was taken to be alone and ‘fence’ until the sun was coming up and they were both exhausted. She didn’t know when she had fallen in love, maybe from that first day they had met but she finally realised it in Antarctica. She still couldn’t believe she had admitted it to herself, never mind his sister. Seeing him fly off into battle, alone, had been a blow to her soul. It had been so long since she’d seen him and her heart was in turmoil. Was he even alive? Was he lying injured somewhere, crying out for her? The thought of him alone and in pain caused her more despair that she believed possible. No, she couldn’t think like that. If she imagined him hurt then she wouldn’t be able to concentrate on anything else. The only clue she had that he was alright was that a powerful, new, white suit had been annihilating swathes of the Romefeller mobile dolls. It couldn’t be one of the Gundams. Could it be him? Oh please let it be him. She wanted to find Zechs but had promised him she would look after his sister and she wouldn’t break her word. Noin didn’t want to admit it but she feared he didn’t want her anymore and that was why he hadn’t contacted her. She loved him so desperately and she knew that he cared about her but did he love her? If he didn’t what would she do? She doubted she could go on and even if she did she would just be a shell of sadness, waiting for the release of death. I’m being morbid she thought. Lets see what my libido conjures up tonight to cheer me up…. Then the alarm sounded. Damn, this better be good. She thought, irritated. Howard looked at the scene before him. The forces were massing around the Sanc Kingdom and looked ready to strike. Zechs was staring at the unfolding panorama on the screen, a look of determination on his face. He was already annoyed at being woken from his ‘sleep’. “Howard, is the Tallgeese upgrade finished?” He asked quietly, betraying none of the fear he felt for his sister and Noin. “Yes. It was finished about –“ he was cut off as explosions on the monitor signalled the start of the conflict. A white Taurus led the defenders. “Zechs?” Howard turned to his friend only to find that he had already left. As he watched the Tallgeese’s engines start up he glanced back at the Taurus that had spurred Zechs to act. “Ah,” he said amused, “The things we do for the ones we love.” Then a thought wiped the smile from his face. “Open the hangar before Zechs blows a hole in it!” he shouted quickly to one of the technicians. Flying through space, Zechs’ was focused on one goal. To defend the ones he loved – even as his mind tried to deny it, his heart called him a pathetic liar. I hope I’m in time to save them, he thought desperately. The battle was rapidly turning against them. The Maguanac and the rebel forces were brave and skilled but were rapidly tiring and more and more were being picked off. Even the Gundams were withering under the relentless assault of untiring, unforgiving mobile dolls. So was she. Too late she spotted the squad of dolls that outflanked her. Their shots tore through her suit sending it crashing to the ground. As she watched them take aim again she closed her eyes. She wasn’t scared of dying. Just sad. Sad she wouldn’t see him again to be able to tell him how deeply she cared about him. The dolls fired and all she heard was the explosion as darkness fell over her. |
