Chapter 31

“Sailor Venus,” Sailor Moon asked, breaking the small, awed silence as the Sailor Scouts realized that they were now all together at last, “are you the Moon Princess?”

“No, I’m not,” Venus replied, smiling. “I’m one of the warriors sworn to protect the princess, just like the rest of you.”

Sailor Moon stared in awe at Sailor Venus. I can’t believe this.… My idol, Sailor V-chan, is now one of us! This has gotta be a dream!

“It’s nice to meet you, everyone,” Venus said, extending her hand to Sailor Moon. Sailor Moon grasped her hand and the others placed their hands over the first two.

“Sorry to ruin the festive mood,” Artemis interrupted, his expression serious, “but we’re in the middle of investigating a certain place. We’ll fill you in on the details tomorrow afternoon at the Hikawa Shrine. See you later, Luna,” he said, turning to her.

“See you tomorrow,” Luna replied.

“See you, everyone,” Venus said as she and Artemis leapt away.

“Well, there she goes,” Mercury said as all the Scouts watched them leave.

“Seems like she’s in hurry,” Jupiter observed.

“She’s kinda impatient, isn’t she?” Mars commented.

“I think she’s great,” Sailor Moon replied.

“Well, opinions of our newest ally aside, I’m heading home,” Knight stated. “I’ll save my opinions until I know more about Sailor Venus. Besides, we have a meeting tomorrow and I’m going to get some sleep. Coming, Jupiter?” he asked, turning to leave.

“I’m right behind you,” Jupiter replied, following as others also left for their homes.

Kunzite and Zoisite stood before Beryl, puzzled as to why they had been summoned back.

“Queen Beryl, why did you call us back?” Kunzite asked.

“We almost had the Rainbow Crystals and defeated Tuxedo Kamen,” Zoisite added fervently.

“That is the order of our Great Master,” Beryl told them.

“Our Great Master ordered it?” Kunzite asked, still confused.

“You must not kill Tuxedo Kamen. You will bring him back alive.”

“Why is that?” Zoisite asked.

“There is no need to explain!” Beryl said sharply.

“It will be done,” Kunzite replied deferentially and bowed.

The eastern sky was dimly lit with the crepuscular light of false dawn. Some of that faint light found its way down into the apartment of Chiba Mamoru. He had just walked into his apartment and was now leaning weakly back against the door with his left hand covering the wound on his right shoulder.

“Damn,” he growled softly to himself as he banged his fist back against the door in frustration. “I couldn’t protect her….”

He wearily walked over to his couch and flopped down into it. The door that he had leaned against had a spot of blood on it, where it seeped through his shirt. He let out a deep sigh as he leaned back, careful not to put any pressure on his shoulder.

The large-screen TV in front of him flickered to life suddenly, as a familiar face appeared upon it. “Nice place you have here,” Zoisite commented drolly.

“How did you find me?” Mamoru asked, leaning forward to face her.

“Once I knew who you were, it was very easy to find you… Mamoru-chan.”

“What do you want?”

“Well, now that we both know who we are, why don’t we settle everything?”

“Settle everything?”

“Yes. Care for a duel, with all seven Rainbow Crystals at stake? Fair and clean.”

“Sure. Challenge accepted.”

“Very good. What do you say we meet at the super high-rise in the Bay Area: the Star Light Tower?”

“Fair enough.”

“Fine. Then we’ll meet there at five this afternoon.” Zoisite grinned viciously as she played with the end of her ponytail. “Nighty night, Mamoru-chan” she said, laughing wickedly as her image faded from his TV.

See you tomorrow, Mamoru thought to himself as he glared at his TV where Zoisite’s image had been.

“Stupid Haruna!” Usagi grumbled to herself as she sprinted to the meeting at the shrine. “Every time I have to go to a meeting, she makes me stay behind. Rei’s gonna be so self-righteous about my being late….”

She trailed off as she noticed Mamoru hobbling ahead of her. “Hey, how come you look so depressed?” she shouted to him as she ran up and swatted him on his right shoulder, causing him to groan and wince in pain. Now, Usagi had a concerned expression on her face. “Something wrong?”

“No, I’m all right,” he lied. “You’re always cheerful, aren’t you?”

“So what if I am?” she retorted testily. “I’m an all-year-round hyper girl!” She stuck her tongue at him.

“All right, then,” he replied with a faint smile. “Keep that cheer up.” He turned and left, leaving a bewildered Usagi staring at him.

“What’s wrong with him?” she wondered. “That’s not his style.” She looked down at her hand, the one she hit Mamoru’s back with. “Blood?!? He’s hurt! Must be bad….” She looked back up concernedly at Mamoru, who was now some distance away.

Mamoru stood at the end of one of the city’s numerous alleys, staring up at the tall tower that loomed overhead like a monolith. The high-rise wasn’t very thick, giving it the appearance of being a fragile structure, but it was one of the sturdiest buildings in the city, as well as one of the tallest.

He was so engrossed in staring at the building, mentally preparing himself for the battle ahead that he didn’t notice the person sneaking up behind him until a hand suddenly touched his shoulder. Instantly, he spun around and prepared to strike his assailant. At the last second, he recognized the person behind him and stopped his attack.

“You again?” he said, regarding a screaming Usagi, her hands raised defensively in front of her face.

“What do you think you’re doing?!?” she hollered.

“And what are you doing here?” he asked suspiciously.

“I came to see you, because I was worried about you,” she said in a concerned voice.

“Me?”

“You shouldn’t be walking around with an injury like that.”

“It’s none of your business,” he said coldly.

“Sure, I suppose not, but….”

“Just leave me alone!” he snapped irritably. “Get lost!” He quickly stalked away, leaving an indignant Usagi behind.

“Watch your mouth!” she shouted at him. “Hey, stop!” she yelled as she chased after him.

Mamoru walked down the road leading to the Star Light Tower. There was no traffic at the moment, mostly because people tended to use the main one, so he was all alone. Occasionally, a car would pass, but for the moment, there was no one.

Zoisite watched his approach. There you are, she thought as she prepared her welcome.

Mamoru stopped abruptly as a red glow engulfed him and some of the surrounding area. “Is this Zoisite’s doing?” he murmured quietly to himself as he looked around him.

“No way! What’s going on?” Usagi exclaimed, scared. She, too, was within the glowing red area.

“You idiot!” Mamoru exclaimed, more concerned than upset. “Why did you have to follow me? Quickly, get out of here!”

“I wish I could,” she wailed.

The red glow brightened until all that could be seen was a coruscating ball of red light lifting off the ground, carrying its two apprehensive passengers into the Star Light Tower.

Back at the shrine, Rei was beginning to grow upset at Usagi’s continued absence. The girls and Luna were standing in the middle of the shrine’s courtyard, while Ryoku leaned placidly back against one of the pillars of the entrance.

“She’s very late, even for her,” Rei said, slightly irritated.

“We know she’s not at home,” Ami stated worriedly.

“And she’s not at school,” Makoto added just as worriedly.

“The communicator’s not getting through to her,” Ryoku told them stoically, his arms folded and eyes closed. “I’m still getting nothing but static.”

“I’m getting worried,” Luna said quietly, staring down at the ground. “Something must have happened to her on her way here.”

“It seems that way, since Usagi’s communicator is blocked to us,” Ryoku replied.

“I’m getting a bad feeling about this,” Rei said quietly.

“We should go look for Usagi-chan,” Ami suggested.

At that moment, Ryoku opened his eyes and lifted his head. “If you insist on trying to listen in on the conversation, then you may as well show yourself,” he said suddenly, staring straight ahead. “Or, would you rather we come to you?”

The others stared blankly at Ryoku, wondering who he was talking to. The answer came in the form of a blonde-haired girl walking up the stairs to the shrine’s entrance, being followed by a white cat.

“I’m sorry for trying to eavesdrop on you guys, but I wanted to make sure you were the ones I was going to meet here,” the girl explained. “I’m surprised you noticed me. None of you were looking in my direction.”

“I heard you whispering to that cat of yours.”

“Who are you?” Rei asked after a short pause. All of the girls were wondering exactly how much of their conversation she had heard.

“Did you forget us already?” the white cat asked in a feigned hurt voice.

“Really, Artemis,” Ryoku replied in a slightly amused tone, “how many white cats with a crescent moon on their forehead do you think we know?”

In fact, the girls did forget, but that was because they were anxious over Usagi’s absence. That reply of Ryoku’s jogged their memory.

“Oh, you must be Sailor Venus!” Ami exclaimed.

“My real name is Aino Minako,” Minako told them. “Eighth grade, just like you are.”

“As far as we can find out, the enemy is up to something at the Star Light Tower,” Artemis cut in abruptly.

“If your communicators aren’t reaching your friend, then there is no doubt about it,” Minako added in a serious tone that matched her expression.

“So, Usagi-chan went into the Star Light Tower by herself,” Ryoku said quietly, his expression grim.

Noticing her brother’s expression, Makoto reached a conclusion. “You think she’s been captured?” she asked him.

“Have you ever known Usagi to go into dangerous situations like this and not tell us about it?” he retorted. “Besides that one time at the tennis court when she was trying to prove herself to us,” he amended quickly. He noticed the puzzled looks on Minako’s and Makoto’s faces. “Later,” he told them.

“If Usagi-chan would only do things like that voluntarily, I wouldn’t have to suffer as much,” Luna said gloomily.

“At any rate, let’s head over there,” Minako said, turning to leave.

All right,” Ryoku agreed, moving away from the pillar he’d been leaning against. “Let’s go.” The others quickly followed after them.

Zoisite watched as the ball of light sped up to the chamber she was using for her purposes. It was high up in the Star Light Tower – one of the unused portions of the tower, mainly for storage. The place had been cleared out quickly and was prepared for her meeting with Mamoru. She impatiently bounced her five Rainbow Crystals up and down in her hand as she waited for him to arrive.

The pulsing ball of red light rose from underneath the floor a good distance away from Zoisite. She watched as the ball flickered and faded away leaving its two passengers behind. Mamoru watched Zoisite warily as he slowly got up from his horizontal position on the floor. He glanced behind him as he got to his knees. Usagi was there, sprawled out behind him and out cold.

“Welcome,” Zoisite greeted with a smirk as she bounced her crystals up and down in her left hand. “I hope you enjoyed the ride.” She walked slowly toward the center of the room, knelt, and placed her crystals down in front of her. “I’ll put our Rainbow Crystals here,” Zoisite said, rising to her feet. “Now, place yours,” she said, backing away from the crystals of the floor, her hands held behind her back.

“Before I do that, send her back,” Mamoru ordered.

“If you take out your Rainbow Crystals.”

“Fine.”

Mamoru stepped forward, moving cautiously toward the small pile of Rainbow Crystals in front of him. The temptation to take all seven crystals was overpowered by the fact that if he attempted such a thing, she might retaliate by harming Usagi. He couldn’t allow such a thing to happen because of him. He placed his two crystals with the other five and backed away, never taking his eyes of Zoisite.

Zoisite gazed down at the collection of Rainbow Crystals between her and Mamoru. As soon as he was as far away from the crystals as she was, she began to laugh.

“What’s so funny?” Mamoru demanded angrily.

“Nothing,” Zoisite replied, still laughing. “I’m just happy to know what a fool you are.” As Zoisite said this, Kunzite appeared next to the Rainbow Crystals.

“No!” Mamoru shouted futilely, as the seven crystals floated up into Kunzite’s hand and vanished.

“I hereby receive you Rainbow Crystals,” he said arrogantly.

“How dare you!” Mamoru roared as he took a step toward the two generals.

“Careful,” Zoisite barked peremptorily, holding up one hand to forestall him. “Any funny moves and the girl behind you will be burnt to a crisp.” She moved her hand to point toward Usagi.

“Zoisite, you’ll handle them?” Kunzite asked.

“Of course,” Zoisite replied.

“You remember Queen Beryl’s orders?”

“Don’t worry.”

Mamoru pulled out a rose from a pocket inside his shirt and flung it, stem-first, at Kunzite. He vanished before the rose could strike him, but the rose kept going toward Zoisite. She wasn’t looking in Mamoru’s direction, so she didn’t notice the rose coming until it was too late. It struck her face, slicing a long, thin wound across her face.

“How dare you scar my face!” Zoisite roared fiercely. “You will pay for this!”

The loudness of Zoisite’s screaming woke Usagi. She blinked groggily as she tried to figure out what was going on around her. She regarded Mamoru with a bewildered expression as she slowly rose to her knees. “Why is Zoisite with him?” she murmured quietly to herself.

Zoisite put a hand to her bleeding cheek and scowled murderously at Mamoru. “Chiba Mamoru, if you want your Rainbow Crystals back,” she said as she teleported away, “then come to the observatory at the top floor.”

Rainbow Crystals? Usagi wondered. Why is he involved in this?

“Oh, by the way, Mamoru,” Zoisite’s voice echoed through the room, as an eerie mist suddenly appeared from out of nowhere, “I hope that you and your little friend are good runners. Do try and savor the terror.”

Above them, large razor-sharp icicles began to form rapidly on the ceiling. They grew so fast that some of them began to break off, mere seconds after they had formed, becoming deadly shards of ice crystal. The first one broke off directly above Usagi and plummeted down over her.

“Watch out!” Mamoru warned as he dived at her, tackling her and pushing her out of harm’s way. The deadly spike struck the floor where she had previously stood, gouging a deep hole into the floor and causing cracks to spread out everywhere. The cracks began to weaken the floor, making it a very dangerous place to be right at the moment, as if the knife-edged icicles weren’t dangerous enough.

They both scrambled to their feet and started to run. Behind them, more icicles started to rain down, causing the floor to crumble and collapse. Her eyes darted to Mamoru as he stumbled, clutching his right shoulder.

That injury on his shoulder…, Usagi thought to herself as she ran. It’s exactly the same as the one that I thought I saw on Tuxedo Kamen-sama last night, but.… He couldn’t be, though.…

“I can’t stand this!” Usagi screamed frantically.

“Hurry, to the elevator!” Mamoru shouted, as a large chunk of the floor fell from right under their heels. Usagi stumbled a little, then almost leaped at the elevator button panel. She pounded on both the up and down buttons repeatedly, as if that action could speed the elevator’s arrival.

“Come on! Open up, damn it!” Usagi shrieked anxiously as the edge of the gaping hole that was steadily growing in the floor continued its advance toward them. When the doors finally opened, just moments before the last of the floor crumbled away, she thought that she had never been so happy to hear the simple ding of an elevator’s doors opening.

“We’re saved,” she sighed in relief.

“It’s not over, yet,” Mamoru said soberly, staring at his surroundings. The elevator car certainly didn’t look like any that he had ever seen before. There was what looked like vines, moss, and other such lichen. There was barely a spot anywhere that wasn’t the same shade of the sick green that coated the entire area except the floor. The place had a very alien feel to it, which made the both of them very apprehensive.

Usagi turned around and glanced back at the elevator doors… which were now no longer there. “No way!” she exclaimed, causing Mamoru to turn and look as well. “What’s happening?!?”

Suddenly, the small chamber began to shake as the elevator car slowly ascended toward the top floor. Mamoru walked over to the one spot on the elevator walls that wasn’t covered in green – the glass window – and stared down at the ground, which was moving farther and farther away.

“I don’t think we can run anywhere,” he said quietly. He glanced over at Usagi, who was looking everywhere as if for confirmation of that statement. “Don’t worry,” he said in a calm voice, “I won’t let anything happen to you.”

“So, here’s the Star Light Tower,” Mars said as she and the other four Scouts arrived at their destination.

“Looks like an ordinary building,” Jupiter remarked.

Mercury pressed her left earring, causing her visor to appear. She glanced upward, between the middle and the top of the building. The visor quickly locked onto one part of the building and gave her an enhanced view of one part of the building: the elevator shaft. Rising steadily upward was the car that contained who they were looking for.

“I found her,” Mercury announced. “Usagi-chan and Mamoru-san are trapped on an elevator headed for the top floor.”

“What’s going on?” Mars asked.

Mercury’s visor displayed each of the building’s entrances. “The doors are all locked.”

“You mean we can’t get in?” Luna asked.

“That doesn’t sound good,” Artemis added.

“Well, now what?” Venus asked.

Knight and Jupiter shared a look and nodded.

“Earth thrust!”

“Supreme thunder!”

The electrically charged stone spike struck the doors and exploded, blowing the doors off their hinges with the force of the blast. The other Scouts sweatdropped at the satisfied look on Knight’s face and the smug look on Jupiter’s face.

“Then the only choice is forced entry,” Jupiter remarked, grinning.

“Whatever works,” Knight replied, nodding. “Let’s go.”

“So, they are here,” Kunzite observed as he and Zoisite watched the Scouts enter the building from their vantage point at the top floor. He had his arm around her shoulders as he gazed down below.

“We have all seven Rainbow Crystals and Chiba Mamoru is trapped,” Zoisite stated, putting a hand to her cheek where a long, thin scar was present. “If we take care of the Sailor Scouts, then…”

“You can avenge that scar of yours,” Kunzite finished.

“Pretty long ride, isn’t it?” Usagi commented. “We’ve been climbing for so long….” She glanced over at Mamoru, who hadn’t moved since the elevator started rising. He seemed to be immersed in his own thoughts. The silence was beginning to unnerve her, so she decided to try and start some conversation.

“How come you’re after the Rainbow Crystals?” she asked. Belatedly, she realized what she had just said. “Sorry. If you don’t wanna talk, then never mind.” She turned around to look out of the elevator, her back to him.

Mamoru turned to look at her with a contemplative expression on his face. “To find my past,” he replied. His reply caused her to turn back toward him with a curious expression on her face. “To recover my lost memory. I’m looking for the Rainbow Crystals so I can find the Silver Crystal.”

He knows about the Silver Crystal, too? Usagi wondered to herself.

“When I was six years old, I lost my parents in a car accident,” he continued, absently putting a hand over the injury on his shoulder. “I couldn’t recall anything.

“Since then, I started to see the same dream over and over again. I have to find the Silver Crystal and recover my past.”

He glanced over at Usagi, who was looking at him intently as if she was paying attention to every word he said. “Hmm… I wonder why I told you everything,” he wondered aloud. He stared back out of the window again.

Usagi turned her back to him and frowned. “I used to think that you were the worst guy in the world.” Her expression softened slightly. “But, I guess now I can make that the second worst,” she continued.

She turned back to Mamoru with a slightly concerned expression. “It must be hard not knowing anything about your past.”

“I get by,” he replied, leaning back against the elevator wall.

For a brief moment, Usagi could almost see Mamoru as Tuxedo Kamen. No way! He can’t be Tuxedo Kamen-sama! No, that can’t be right.…

Kunzite stood up on the roof of the Star Light Tower, surveying the vast cityscape.

“This will be a fitting burial ground for you, Sailor Scouts,” he said as he began to cause a huge blackout to spread over the city by drawing the city’s power.

Inside the tower, the other Scouts and the cats were hurriedly climbing the endless flights of stairs. The dark energies summoned by Kunzite began to swirl around the tower. Each Scout and cat could feel it around them.

“What’s going on?” Mercury exclaimed.

“A blackout?” Jupiter observed.

“Don’t stop!” Knight ordered, continuing upward. “Keep going!”

The elevator car suddenly stopped its excruciatingly slow ascent with a shake. “We’ve stopped!” Usagi exclaimed as she and Mamoru looked around for an exit.

Above them, Zoisite glared down at the stalled elevator with a wicked grin spread across her face. She slowly raised her hands up at her sides, palms up and at an even level with her head. A spark of flame ignited in her left hand and roared at an arc over her head, shooting over to her right hand. A stronger flame returned from her right hand to her left. Again and again, the flame went back and forth until it grew to the level she wanted.

Goodbye, she thought, sneering as she flung the flame down the shaft. The flame spiraled around the cable that held the elevator car as it hurtled downward.

“What?!?” Usagi exclaimed as she and Mamoru noticed the approaching fiery doom.

What do I do? she wondered, heavily weighing her options. If I transform, he’ll know who Sailor Moon is.… But if I don’t, then we’ll both die.

In five words, she made her decision.

“Moon prism power, make up!”

What?!? Mamoru exclaimed mentally, his eyes wide open in shock as he witnessed Usagi’s transformation into Sailor Moon. “You….”

The flames finally reached the elevator car and exploded upon contact. At the top, Zoisite watched with great satisfaction as billows of fiery smoke blew upwards from the wreckage.

“I’d better report to Queen Beryl that Chiba Mamoru died in an ‘accident’,” Zoisite said smugly to herself as she walked away from the elevator shaft.

“What accident?” a voice countered from behind.

“What?”

“You’ll pay for trying to kill us!” Sailor Moon declared, standing near the edge of the elevator shaft with Mamoru standing to one side behind her. “On behalf of the Moon, I’ll punish you!”

“Sailor Moon, I’ll dispose of you along with Tuxedo Kamen!” Zoisite declared.

“Get serious. Where is Tuxedo Kamen-sama?”

“Right here,” Mamoru replied behind her.

“He is?” Sailor Moon asked, turning to regard Mamoru with a perplexed look. Mamoru nodded and pulled out a rose from a hidden pocket underneath his shirt. Sailor Moon gasped. No way.…

Right before her eyes, he transformed, just as she did before him earlier.

“Sailor Moon, you should leave while you can,” Tuxedo Kamen told her. “You were very brave. Now, leave everything to me.”

“No,” Sailor Moon replied. “You’re hurt. You shouldn’t fight.”

“Sailor Moon, I will protect you.”

“Tuxedo Kamen-sama….”

“That’s enough!” Zoisite said derisively. “Now, we shall settle the score, Tuxedo Kamen!”

“Very well, but you must not harm Sailor Moon,” he insisted.

“Of course,” Zoisite agreed. Behind them, a shard of ice crystal began to rise from the ground.

“Let this be a fair fight,” he added, walking toward Zoisite while bringing out his cane.

“Oh, it will be very fair,” she replied in a tone that insinuated otherwise. She watched as he strode closer.

Closer.

Closer….

Yes! she thought to herself as she let the crystal fly. It shot like an arrow, straight for its target and hit dead on.

“No!!!” Sailor Moon exclaimed in despair as Tuxedo Kamen fell to the floor, struck from behind by Zoisite’s ice crystal. His hat and eyemask fell away as he hit the ground. She ran to his side as fast as she could go and knelt beside him, holding him up in her arms. “Tuxedo Kamen!”

“Are you all right, Sailor Moon?” Tuxedo Kamen asked weakly. Sailor Moon nodded, still in shock. “Why do you look so sad? I’m glad you’re safe.” His arm, which was extended toward Sailor Moon as if to gently wipe away her tears, fell limply to the ground beside him.

“Oh, no…. Tuxedo Kamen-sama…,” Sailor Moon murmured desolately.

The five other Sailor Scouts and the two cats finally reached the top floor and burst into the room. They all stopped abruptly as they each observed the sorrowful tableau displayed before them.

“Tuxedo Kamen!” Venus exclaimed.

“We’re too late,” Mars added quietly.

Sailor Moon was oblivious to everything except Tuxedo Kamen, whose life was slowly beginning to fade away. A tear formed at the corner of her eye, which began to shine with a bright light….

Kunzite watched as the seven Rainbow Crystals began to hover above their settings in the specially-made tray meant to hold them. They had been hovering like that ever since he had put them together like that. He couldn’t figure out how to get them to reform into the Silver Crystal, so he just decided to wait. Perhaps Beryl knew how to go about reforming the Silver Crystal.

Suddenly, right before his astonished eyes, the seven crystals rose into the air and disappeared. Something was happening, and it didn’t bode well for their situation….

Above Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Kamen, the seven Rainbow Crystals appeared and floated down to her. The shining tear dropped from Sailor Moon’s cheek and stopped in midair. First, the Orange Rainbow Crystal flew into it, causing the tear to flash and crystallize. The Blue crystal joined the Orange crystal, making the crystallized tear grow in size by a small margin. The Violet crystal was next, making the crystal tear grow even larger. The Green crystal was next, followed by the Yellow crystal, the Indigo crystal, and finally the Red crystal, each making the crystallized tear grow larger. Everyone watched as the seven Rainbow Crystals finally became one, and the crystallized tear began to reform into the Silver Crystal.

“That’s the Silver Crystal!” Luna exclaimed.

“So, that’s the Silver Crystal?” Artemis said. “What’s going on?”

The Crescent Moon Wand suddenly appeared in front of Sailor Moon. The Silver Crystal floated over to the wand and attached itself to the bottom part of the crescent moon’s interior, where the crescent moon and the handle intersected. Sailor Moon gazed up blankly at the wand and crystal floating overhead, then listlessly stood up.

“It’s Sailor Moon!” Venus said in realization.

She’s the Moon Princess!” Mercury added.

“Our search is finally over,” Knight stated.

The glow from the crystal enveloped Sailor Moon. Her tiara vanished, leaving behind a crescent moon on its side: the symbol of the Moon. Her Sailor Scout outfit faded away, leaving a pure white gown in its place. The five other Sailor Scouts watched in awe as their leader was revealed as the very Moon Princess they had been searching for; the one they were sworn to protect.

“The Moon Princess…,” Luna said, staring at her ward in astonishment.

“Yes, Luna,” Artemis agreed, regarding the calm, serene expression of the Moon Princess. “She has finally awakened.”
