This is my latest module. The end panels are 3 1/2" X 16" pieces of 3/4" plywood.
The top, sides and crossbraces are 1/4" lauan plywood. The leg mounting blocks are 3/4" plywood with
15/16" holes drilled through them. (There is another block above the one shown) The leg mounting blocks are set back from the ends to allow room for clamps. There is a notch in the top of the cross braces for wires. The frame was assembled with small nails and construction adhesive.
The legs are made of 3/4" nominal diameter (#1) thinwall electrical conduit (EMT). A 1/2-13 (#2) nut was pounded into the end and soldered in place.
A 1/2-13 X 4" long fully threaded bolt (#4) was screwed into the nut as a levelling foot. A #6 X 3/8" long drill point, pan head sheet metal screw (#2)
was screwed into the leg just above the height of the lower leg mounting block (2" from the end).
A notch was cut into the lower leg mounting block to clear the screw (#2 above). The leg can thus be inserted and held in with a simple twist.
