    The Book store coffee shop can be a great place to meet M.O.M.S. members and potential members.  Any small meeting place is great.  Dognut Shop, library or rec center.  Let's try to start having small gatherings so our network of parents has a beginning.  We tried to begin large and that did not work because of one reason or another.  Let's begin small and build from there.

    Thank you to all who attended and volunteered their time in February at our first meeting in Mount Clemens.

    Check the event schedule often for gatherings and happenings around your area that involve other members.  Take part and enjoy.

    If you are going to be in a gathering place and want to have other members meet you, please e-mail the date and time and it will be posted on the events page for all to see.

    Become a M.O.M.S. Member


    If you are a single parent, we ned you!  Our organization is dedicated to helping single parents.  We give support, encouragement, babysitting help and other resources to aid in the most difficult, yet rewarding job on the planet--being a SOLO parent.

    The M.O.M.S. Mission Statement:
    Our mission is to improve the quality of life for single parents and their children by providing resources to strengthen the emotional, spiritual and financial state of the one-income family.
    We will create avenues to alleviate stress, eliminate the all-too-frequent feelings of loneliness and isolation, and increase self-esteem in both single parents and their children.
    We will encourage a harmonious relationship between joint custodial parents so that their children may flourish and grow up in a loving family environment.
    Through determination we will put the past behind us, focus on today and build a better future for ourselves and for our children.
    Together We Can & Will Make A Difference

    Membership Requirements:
    M.O.M.S requires applicants to have a minimum 50% physical custody to qualify for membership.  M.O.M.S. encourages single parents whose children are now grown, to apply for membership.  The only difference between them and us is that they have successfully survived whereas it is yet to be seen if we will!

    V.I.P. CARD UPDATE


    As a member of M.O.M.S. a benefit is available to you.  Your membership card is also a discount card.  You can present your card to local merchants and service providers for a discount on goods and services that they provide.
    Currently we are working on adding merchants to our list for the Detroit Metro Area.  We are also in need of volunteers to solicit businesses for membership in our V.I.P. Program.  Please go to the main M.O.M.S. site to get all the information on how to solicit a business for our V.I.P. program. 
     

    July Update:  Marshall Field's, Target, and J C Penney have been solicited to see if they would participate in our VIP program.  No response has been received as of yet.

    VIP Letters will be going out in August to the following businesses:
    The Avenue, Babies R Us, and Walmart.

    If you would like a business to be solicited for the VIP Program, please e-mail the Business Name, Contact Person, and phone number to japp302@home.com.
