Chakotay was back early. Kathryn wouldn’t expect him for at least another twenty-four hours. The mission had finished ahead of schedule so he and Tom, both of whom would have loved to stay and play at any other time in their lives, came back as quickly as the Flyer would take them. They had been away almost a week scouting a nearby system for the ever short supplies and dilithium deposits. Without much luck the first few days, they were sure they would be gone for weeks, then they found everything and more on an L Class with only a sparse population. The inhabitants were not a space fairing people; in fact, they appeared primitive and hostile. The population however was settled far enough from the area Voyager would need to access, so they would not to be a problem.
With B'Elanna seven months pregnant, Tom had been anxious to get back. It was funny how much he had changed. Chakotay was eager to return himself; he hated to spend even one night away from her. Chakotay often wondered how he had managed all those years, so close yet so far, always that wall of protocol between them. Once again, he thanked the spirits, or what ever was responsible for her change of heart.
Actually, he probably should thank Tom and B'Elanna. It had been about five months ago, just about the time they found out B'Elanna was pregnant, that Kathryn had come around. It really didn't matter to Chakotay how or why. Kathryn was finally his and that was all he cared about.
Chakotay slipped into her quarters; silently he crossed the darkened area to her bedroom. It always amazed him when her saw her; each time she was more beautiful than the last. Of course it was just the way he perceived her, but that didn't matter. To Chakotay’s eyes, she just became more beautiful with each passing day. He stood silently watching her by the light of the stars shining through the view port. Kathryn was lying on her side facing him, the blanket around her waist. She was curled up against her pillow, hugging it. Kathryn wore blue satin with thin straps, short and fitted. It was rumpled from sleep now, but he knew the smooth lines of the gown well, it dipped slightly to reveal the milky white swell of her breasts, hugged her body, then flared over her hips and ended just above her knee.
Chakotay was tempted to snatch her up in his arms, but just like the crew was always in need of fresh supplies and the ship in need of ditlithium, the Captain was always in need of a few hours sleep. He wouldn't interrupt it. Chakotay considered going to his own quarters so he didn't disturb her, but than he wouldn't wake up beside her. He decided to stay. Quietly, he undressed and moved into the bed behind her, easing up next to her. Chakotay rested his hand on her hip and drifted into a comfortable sleep breathing in the soft scent of her hair.
Kathryn rolled over and reached for him, snuggling up and burying her face in his chest. It was warm and comfortable; he unconsciously wrapped his arms around her. The scent of him slowly drifted into her unconscious state and she stirred. Her eyes fluttered open and to her surprise, he was really there. She watched the rise and fall of his chest with his even breathing. He was back early, and she reasoned that since she had not been disturbed, that was good news. She reached up and traced the lines of his tattoo, something she had done often in the last few months. Somehow, it always comforted her.
Kathryn settled back down beside him, nestling in, listening to the steady rhythm of his heartbeat while one hand drew idle circles across his chest. Chakotay pulled her closer. Kathryn lifted her head to see if he was awake; he was sleeping. She lay down again and his hand started a slow circular motion on back. She smiled.
*Stop that if you want to sleep*. Kathryn thought, knowing of course he was already asleep and completely unaware of what he was even doing.
Kathryn couldn’t resist; she ran her hands across his chest, placing soft moist kisses in their wake. Rising up to spread light butterfly kisses across his jaw, she nuzzled his neck. Soft lips and tongue teasing, tasting an erect nipple, as her hands glided, barely touching, down his hard stomach, caressing muscled thighs. Short nails gently scraped his inner thigh, soft kisses trailed across his chest, light licks and gentle nips blazed a path down his stomach. Chakotay groaned when her fingers contacted his growing erection and her warm breath blew across him. Stroking him gently, Kathryn licked a path down one thigh and up the other, nipping, giving gentle bites, wet open kisses. He moaned, hands reaching into her hair; he was awake now. Her slick tongue licked the first drops of fluid eliciting a groan; her tongue circled the sensitive tip and then she encased him in the rich velvet moisture of her mouth. Kathryn took him in deeply, tongue teasing, teeth grazing; he shuddered as she drew back slowly suckling him.
"Kat---godddd." Chakotay gasped, his fingers tightening as she explored him, lips, tongue and teeth working together. He groaned, grasping her head, thrusting against her. With a sharp breath, he reached to redirect her and she reluctantly released him.
"I missed you." She breathed, coming back up to capture his mouth.
Chakotay slid the straps off her shoulders and trailed a line of warm kisses down her neck sinking until his face was buried in the cleft between her breasts. He breathed in the soft erotic scent that was Kathryn. His tongue snaked to lick across an ivory mound; Kathryn arched, a sigh escaping as his lips closed around the taut dimpled peak. He rolled her back to the bed, sliding the blue satin over her hips while his teeth gently maintaining their grasp on her nipple. As his tongue flicked across the pebbled hardness, his fingers gently brushed through the soft auburn patch between her legs, eliciting a sharp gasp.
"How much?" He raised his head to see her. "Let's see---hummm." He slipped his fingers into her moist folds. Kathryn raised her hips, spreading her thighs; he watched her, head back, mouth open a groan escaping as his fingers lightly stroked her sensitive flesh. His lips sought her breast and she
clutched at him."Pleeasse." She sucked in her breath, raising her hips as two fingers entered her.
"No, no, Kat---not yet" He kissed his way across her stomach, feeling the muscles ripple at his touch. He nipped her lower belly and licked his way down her thigh.
"Gooodd ---pleeaassee." She gasped out between ragged breaths "Cha-ko-taay."
He withdrew his fingers and she groaned in frustration. Positioning himself between her legs, his hands pressed open her thighs, thumbs gently spreading her lips. She shivered, bucking her hips as he blew warm air across her hot center. Chakotay lightly ran his tongue along her inner lips, carefully avoiding her throbbing center. When she swung her hips, he put a hand on her stomach to hold her still.
"Patience, Kathryn, patience." His tongue continued, licking, lapping, tasting and teasing as she writhed beneath him.
"Goooddd---pleeassee..." She moaned then sucked in a sharp breath, thrusting against his fingers, as they entered her. His lips closed around her swollen clit-sucking, tongue flicking.
"Yessss----gooooooddd—yessss." Her whole body convulsed inner muscles clenching as she screamed her release. "Cha koootaaaay."
As she stilled, his mouth released its hold and he moved next to her, stroking, whispering his love. Kathryn opened her eyes and drew his lips to hers. He let her roll him back, lips locked, their tongues dueling, two sets of hands touching, stroking, teasing as their bodies tightly pressed together. Rising up, Kathryn straddled him. Chakotay groaned as stroking fingers slid his length along her moist folds. Leaning in to capture a taut nipple, she bit down gently as she positioned him, then straightened up to watch him as she slowly took him in.
Placing her hands on Chakotay’s chest, Kathryn slowly lifted her hips, almost fully then lowered herself to engulf him again and again. He tightened his grasp on her hips as she gradually increased her pace and he thrust against her in ever quickening movements. His breath quickened, she could feel his heart pound under her hands, as he used his grip on her to force a faster, harder pace. Slipping one hand between them, he stroked her just above their joining, sending shivers through her, forcing her onward, until she cried out arching, tossing her head back--her body convulsing--gripping him and forcing him over with her. Kathryn collapsed resting her head on his chest; sweating, both hearts pounding.
"Bravo, Bravo." Suddenly, the room filled with a shrill whistle and applause. "Wonderful, Kathy." There was a blinding flash of light and Q sat on the end of the bed. "Chuckles, nice job---didn't know you had it in ya!"
"Q!" Kathryn gasped and grabbed the sheet to cover herself.
"Kathy, a little late for modesty wouldn't you say?" Q rolled his eyes, grinning at her.
"What are you---how long---get the hell out of my bedroom!" She yelled at him, clutching the sheet to her chest.
"Kathy, no need to be nasty." He looked to Chakotay. "Hey, Chuckles, how'd you get her to scream like that? Never would have pictured Kathy a screamer-a gasper-a moaner but, not a screamer."
"Q, the lady asked you to leave." Chakotay tried to be calm.
"Tsk-tsk. Humans are so touchy. Actually, she ordered me to leave, but she doesn't seem to be wearing her pips." He leaned in bringing his face close to her neck and she swatted at him. "So, it doesn't count--right?" He swung around putting his feet on the floor. "Ya know, Kathy, maybe I'm beginning to understand what you see in him."
"Get out!"
"Now, now, don't get upset; I'll go, but I'll be waiting in the other room." He stood up and snapped his fingers and was gone.
"Gods! What could he want now?!" She rested her head on Chakotay’s chest.
"I guess we better go find out, or he'll never leave." Chakotay held her, gently rubbing her back.
"I don't believe he was watching. I can't..."
"I know, but it's only Q. He probably watches everyone."
"Godds that's sick!"
"OH, Kathy." Q yelled from the other room. "Are you coming? Well, you did that already, didn’t you? Are you going to join me?" He laughed at his own humor and he could hear her groan.
She climbed out of bed and pulled on a bathrobe, grumbling the entire time. It almost made Chakotay laugh. He wouldn't though because he knew how upset she really was by their unexpected audience. She stomped into the other room and ordered coffee, before facing Q.
"Just what the hell do you think you’re doing?" She demanded, seething.
"Kathy, not going to offer me refreshment?" Q sat on the couch smiling at her anger.
"Q, I would poison you, if I thought you could die!"
"Why are you so angry?"
"You have no right to be in my bedroom--sneaking around--WATCHING! "She was raging at him, but he only smiled.
"Kathy, you really are beautiful when you're angry." He turned to Chakotay as he joined them. "Isn't she, Chuckles?"
"She's always beautiful, Q, but this isn't the time. What do you want?"
"Why is it you humans are so touchy about this?" He shook his head. "You all do it! You're always looking for an opportunity to do it and then, if someone sees you or knows you did it---you get all flustered, angry and embarrassed about it. I just don't get it."
"You don't have to get it, just tell me why you're here."
"Kathy, it really was beautiful. I don't see why you hide it." He looked at them. "Are you ashamed? Is that why? Is it wrong to enjoy each other? --or just you two--no it's all humans." He was talking mostly to himself.
"Q, enough. Just get to the point of your visit." Chakotay stood next to her.
"I really wanted to see Kathy. Well, I guess I did. I saw even more of Kathy than I bargained for." He laughed. "If I have to deal with you, she'll never help me." He turned to Kathryn. "Could we talk--privately?"
"Privately! Now you want privacy?! I don't think so. Whatever it is --out with it. I don't have all night."
"Yes, you do, Kathy, he couldn't possibly do that again so soon. Could you Chuckles?" He looked from one to the other, Kathryn groaned in frustration. "Now, I on the other hand, I can do amazing things and I can do them forever."
"Q, I'm going back to bed. Whatever it is--it obviously isn't that important." She started across the room.
"I'll join you, if you do." His smile faded as she turned back and glared. "OK-it's HER- I don't like her and she hates me."
"And what is it you think I can do about this?" She rolled her eyes and came back to sit in the chair.
"I don't know, Kath. Help me!"
"I can't help you. This is something you have to work out for yourselves. Are you as obnoxious with her as you are with me?"
"NO! Er---well,--Yes, of course I am. That's who I am." He looked puzzled. "Is that bad?"
"It would be for me. I don't know, maybe she likes you that way. Ask her."
"She won't speak to me. Anyway, I'm not the problem--you are."
"Me?! How in the hell did I get into this?" She was getting angry again.
"Well---she thinks --- kinda that --well we --ya know --that we..."
"What?! Where would she get such an idea?" She stood up and crossed to him. "Did you..."
"Gotta go..." Q snapped his fingers and in a flash, he was gone.
"Damn him!" She was furious and Chakotay couldn't help but laugh. "This isn't funny!"
"Kathryn, calm down. Omnipotent or not, he isn't the first guy to make such claims about a woman and he won't the last. I would venture to say he won't even be the last one to say it about you." He couldn't keep from chuckling at her rage.
"Damn it, Chakotay! How can you be so calm?!" She beat her fist on his chest.
"Hey, don't take it out on me." He caught her wrists and held them, smiling down at her.
"Oh hell--I'm sorry --he just makes me so mad."
"I know. Come on let's get some sleep before something else happens." He let go of her hands and put his arm around her to lead her into the bedroom. "He is right about one thing---you are beautiful when you're angry."
She swatted playfully at him and smiled for the first time since Q had arrived.
Every thing was back to normal the next morning. After the briefing, Tom set a course for the L class and they were headed there at warp four.
"Commander, the bridge is yours. I'll be..." Her words were cut short by the appearance of Miss Q.
"There you are. I have a bone to pick with you!" She stood directly in the Captain's path."
"Miss Q, how nice to see you. Can we..."
"Nice?! I'll show you nice." She raised her hand but before she could snap, Q grabbed it.
"Don't! She didn't do anything."
"I'm not speaking to you, but if I were--I would tell you not to try to protect your lover!" Miss Q shouted across the bridge and the Captain cringed.
"Let's do this somewhere else--shall we..?" The Captain tried to remain calm.
"Certainly." Miss Q snatched back her hand and snapped her fingers and she and the Captain disappeared.
"Oh, dear." Q sat in the Captain's chair.
"Where the hell are they?" Chakotay demanded, as the rest of the bridge crew looked on dumbfounded.
"I don't know."
"Find them." Chakotay growled.
"Chuckles, I would like nothing better, but I don't know where to look. It's a big universe out there."
"Mr. Kim, scan for the Captain."
"Nothing, Sir. She's not on the ship, not within our scanning range."
"Q---get her back!"
"Keep your shirt on, Chuckles. I have no desire to see you naked—again. I'll find them." With that he snapped and was gone, leaving Chakotay to face the stares of the crew.
"Harry, keep scanning. Tom, all stop. We go nowhere until we find the Captain." He stopped his pacing and sat in the command chair, running his hand through his hair. "Damn."
"Commander, it is reasonable to assume that, since they have never done so in the past, the Q will not harm the Captain. When they are finished with this display they will simply return her."
"Normally, I would agree with you, but there is no reasoning with a jealous woman."
"Miss Q is jealous of the Captain?" Tom turned to look at Chakotay.
"You find that unreasonable, Mr. Paris?"
"Yes--No! I mean I didn't think the Captain even liked Q."
"Right now that is a gross understatement and I am inclined to agree with her." He got up and crossed to the ready room. "Tuvok, call a meeting of the senior staff and let me know when everyone is here. You have the bridge."
Once inside the ready room, he paced in front of the view port, trying to figure out where she was and how to get her back. This was Q they were dealing with--- reason just didn't work.
"Tuvok to Commander Chakotay."
"Yes, Tuvok?"
"The Senior Staff is assembled in the briefing room."
"On my way, Chakotay out."
Chakotay entered the briefing room and the buzz died down. He took the Captain's place at the head of the table and began to explain the situation for B'Elanna and Seven's benefit - since they were the only ones not on the bridge when the Captain vanished.
"I don't understand. She just popped in and snatched the Captain? Without reason?" B'Elanna had about as much tolerance for Q, as the Captain.
"She believes she has a reason."
"This jealousy Tom mentioned? The Captain hates Q"
"You know that and I know that. Even Q knows that, but miss Q doesn't. Apparently Q led her to believe he had something going with the Captain." Chakotay didn't really want to go too far in this direction.
"Q and the Captain? That's ridiculous."
"Yes, well be that as it may, what we need to focus on here is how to find her, not whatever warped tales Q might have been spreading."
"Commander, might I remind you that all such efforts have failed in the past." Tuvok was as calm as ever.
"We can't just sit here and do noting."
"That, Commander is exactly what I believe we should do. Any other course of action would only serve to deplete our resources."
"I hate to say it, Chakotay, but he's right." Tom spoke up. "Every time Q does something like this we search and scan and never find anything. He always gives her back."
"Yea, but it's not him this time." B'Elanna shook her head. "I know what I would do if someone was messing with my man---and I don't even have her powers."
"The Captain is not --she's not--doing anything with Q." Harry sounded defensive, then looked at Chakotay just to be sure. "Is she, Commander?"
"No, Harry, she is definitely not." Chakotay sat down and ran his fingers through his hair. "OK, for now we'll keep scanning, but take no other action. We'll give Q a chance to fix this. Unless some one had a better idea?"
~~~^^^~~~
"Miss Q, this is a terrible mistake. I have no interest in Q." Kathryn found herself awkwardly bound to a tree, while Miss Q sat on the ground looking over various ancient weapons.
"Was Q in your bedroom last night?" She got up and began pacing the distance between them.
"No---well--yes--I mean..." Kathryn hesitated and Miss Q stopped and studied her.
"Well? -- a simple yes or no."
"It's not simple."
"Than that's a yes?"
"Well, yes, he was, but I can explain." Kathryn tugged at the ropes. "I think I can anyway. We weren't alone...."
"That's disgusting!!" Miss Q turned and picked up a bow and arrow, testing it.
"No,-no,--not like that. He was just watching. Godds, this isn't coming out right." Kathryn strained against her bonds.
"Hold still." Miss Q was trying to aim, but Kathryn kept moving.
"Please,---you must listen to me."
"I WAS listening. My husband was in your bedroom last night with you and someone else. Who? That girl with the wrinkled forehead?" She aimed and looked over the arrow trying to gage its placement.
"B'Elanna? God, no---nothing like that! OK, listen..."
"I am listening, but you're not telling me anything."
"Could you loosen these?" Kathryn tugged again on the ropes. "You know I can't get away from you anyway. I don't even know where we are."
"All right." She picked up a long, sharp knife and began to slice the ropes. Kathryn cringed and held her breath until she was free. "Sit." Miss Q pointed to the ground, and then sat herself. "So you are in bed with my husband and who?"
"No, I was not--that is yes--I was in bed----Q was not!" Kathryn made a face. "I don't even like Q!"
"Why not?" She said as if she couldn't fathom anyone not liking Q.
"Sorry, he just doesn't appeal to me." Kathryn tried to recover. "I prefer mortals."
"How do you know?"
"Godds, Miss Q --I don't--I just---He's not..." Kathryn took a deep breath. "OK, I don't know what he told you..."
"He said that you and he..."
"NO! That's OK--I don't care what he said. Please you have to believe me when I tell you. I am not interested in Q...."
"Why not?"
"OK, it's really this simple. I'm---I'm in love with Chakotay."
"Your first officer? Chuckles?!!"
"Yes!" Finally, Kathryn thought.
"That big guy with the blue lines on his face? I don't get it --what does he have?" She looked confused. "Yuck, I don't like him."
"YES! Exactly!"
"Huh?" Now she was really confused.
"Chakotay doesn't appeal to you---right?"
"Well, that's a bit of an understatement ---but right--So?"
"Q doesn't appeal to me. Get it?"
"So you and Q...?" She shook her head.
"That's right---nothing. He makes me crazy and I would be very happy never to see him again. He's all yours."
"Than why would he say..."
"He's a man. He probably just wanted to get you jealous. God only knows---why do they do anything?"
"Maybe.." She seemed to think about it. "So what was he watching?"
"US." Kathryn rolled her eyes.
"You and --Chuckles---OOH ---you and Chuckles." She smiled and nodded. "Why would he do that?"
"I don't know." Kathryn was getting impatient with all these questions. Why did they think she had the answers? "I don't think he came for that, to watch us. He wanted me to help him with you. That's what he told me when I asked."
"Me? He talked to you about me?"
"Yes." She was exasperated. Every time she thought she had made some progress there were more questions.
"Why would he do that? What could you possibly know?"
"Exactly. That's what I told him--- I told him to talk to you, but..."
"I'm not talking to him. Oh, I'm not talking to him, so he went to you. I better talk to him." With that, she snapped her fingers and disappeared.
"Miss Q, WAIT!" Kathryn sat alone on the ground.
"OOPS!" A voice with no body and then they were on the bridge.
~~~^^^~~~
"I tell you, Chuckles, I don't know where they are." Q sat in Kathryn's command chair, head in hands.
"Think Q! She's your wife, where would she take the Captain."
"She's a woman. How in the hell am I supposed to know what she thinks?"
In a flash of light, they appeared. Kathryn was sitting on the floor, Miss Q standing over her. Chakotay jumped from his chair to help Kathryn up.
"Captain, Am I glad to see you!"
"Glad to be back, Commander." She took the hand he offered and stood up.
"See that! You never do anything like that." Miss Q stood with her hands on her hips, looking down at Q.
"THAT! Ha--that's nothing. You should see what else they do!" Q stood up. "Why last night I saw..."
"Q!" Kathryn cut him off, giving him a death glare. "I think you and Miss Q should talk---elsewhere." She could feel all eyes on her.
"Kathy there you go again." He turned back to Miss Q. "They are so funny about things, getting embarrassed so easily---Why last night..."
"Q, could you please discuss this somewhere else." Chakotay stepped up and took his arm.
As he did this, Miss Q watched him, then began a slow appraising stroll around him, carefully looking him up and down.
"I still don't get it." She shook her head. "Captain, what is it about him?"
"Why don't we talk in my ready room?" Kathryn could feel the color rising, as the bridge crew continued to stare.
"See, it's happening again." Q pointed to Kathryn's red cheeks. "Kathy..." She glared back at him and he backed off. "Miss Q, let's go home and talk about this. I'll tell you everything!!!"
Q took her arm and snapped his fingers; they vanished and the Captain visibly relaxed. She stiffened again at the sound of their voices.
"Q, can you tell me what she sees in him?"
"It's kind of hard to explain. I didn't understand either --but --I think I can show you."
The Captain sat briefly in her command chair; she glanced at Chakotay who sat next to her grinning. She could feel the eyes of most of the crew and her color deepened.
"I'll be in my ready room." She said to no one in particular, as she left the bridge.
"Mr. Paris, resume course warp four. Mr. Tuvok the bridge is yours." Chakotay ordered as he followed her.
The bridge crew looked curiously at one another, before turing their attention back to their stations. As the door to the ready room swished closed, their laughter rang across the bridge.
The End
