St Margaret's Font, 1927

The Font has a 'handsome Blackwood Font-cover' donated by Mrs Skinner in memory of Jean, John and Charles John Skinner, dedicated by Rev Horner on Sunday 29 May 1927, during a Mission held at St Margaret's from Thursday 26 May to 6 June by Rev Dr A Law of St John's Toorak. Bishop M C James commissioned Dr Law on Weds 25 May at 9.00pm.
St Margaret's Cricket Club was formed on 28 August 1927 and joined the district competition.
The Governor of Victoria, Lord and Lady Somers with Colonel and Mrs Davidson (private Secretary) attended Divine Service at 11.00am at St Margaret's on 11 Sept 1927, and Bishop James of St Arnaud confirmed 57 at 7.30pm on 25 Sept 1927.

1927 also saw the inauguration of a Parish Paper sent to 450 addresses, a new church built at Billabong dedicated on 20 Nov 1927 at 2.30pm, and the St Margaret's Cricket club had a win on 27 Nov and 4 Dec with scores of St Margaret's 47 and 6 for 91, against Mildura Central's 48 and 88.

The new organ at St Margaret's (money raised in 1927) was dedicated by Canon Horner on Sunday 11 March 1928.
