ADAMS To the memory of our friend and fellow worker Private Fred Adams, son of Mr and Mrs J R Adams, who was killed in action while fighting at the Dardanalles 21 May 1915. Inserted by the members of St Margaret's Church of England Choir Mildura.

Francis Tickle joined up with the Adams brothers, he survived and became a member of St Mark's, Red Cliffs. St Margaret's Committee at the meeting 9 June 1915 expressed sympathy to their Secretary, Mr JR Adams, and his wife and daughter in the loss of their son, Private FJ Adams, who was a member of this committee. | ||

A Brass Altar Cross was dedicated in his memory on Sunday 21 November 1915 at St Margaret's, donated by his parents.
His younger brother Edgar born in Victoria 1896 #21940, was killed about the same day, but confirmation of his death does not appear known till 1918 when St Margaret's held a memorial service for him at 11am on Sunday 15 August.

He was born in Victoria 1896 #21940, son of Sarah Elizabeth Colbeck and James Rawson Adams. St Margaret's held a memorial service for him at 11am on Sunday 15 August 1918 |

Francis Robert Tickle and Elizabeth Coombe settled in Warnambool, where Elizabeth died 1926 aged 65 and Francis Robert died 1941, aged 83. Their parents names are listed as 'unknown'. Lieut Frank William "MC" Tickle of the 8th Bat returned to Australia 13 July 1919, and settled at Red Cliffs, where he is remembered with the eagle lectern.
