When You Need Self-Control

Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.     Colossians 3:5.


Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of sinful nature.      Romans 13:14.


Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.   1 Cor 9:25.


"Everything is permissible for me"- but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible for me"- but I will not be mastered by anything.   1 Corinthians 6:12.


(The grace of God) teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age.     Titus 2:12.


For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness.   2 Peter 1:5,6.


Better a patient man than a warrior, a man who controls his temper than one who takes a city.            Proverbs 16:32.
