Well
I went in with Tim and Wanyi but we were seperated when we reached Nee
Soon camp. I was in platoon 11, Wanyi in platoon 12, and Tim in platoon
9. I didn't mind (at first not) being with my platoon.....the most fun
group of people I know....... almost every weekend we will go to hardrock
cafe to chill out and relief stress.......dance and enjoy the music and
civilian life! We had fun both in and out of camp that REALLY made BMT
less bearable.......It was tough...everyday waking up at 5:45!! and sleeping
at 2300. Working out everyday, doing fatigue, SOC, IPPT..... There was
one week we had SOC(standard obstacle course) and shooting range one day
after the other.....range always starts at 4a.m and end at 3a.m. It was
really really tiring.......somemore during range we cannot sleep or else
we will 'knock it down'(do push ups)........sian.....somemore we had one
range on Sunday!...There was also this day when we had SOC test in the
morning and 24 km road march in the afternoon till about 3a.m at night........*pant*
*pant*...... But the worst was the field camp......it was a 3 day 3 night
thing.......... The 1st day when we were there, it rained and our entire
camping site was a mud pie...... how demoralising..... all of us tried
to avoid the mud as we built our 'basha' tents and officer couldn't stand
it cos we were taking too much time he made us do push-ups on the mud!!!....1st
day and our rifles and uniform was drench in mud......still got 2 more
days .....cannot bathe......win already loh!! I had little sleep.....in
order to sleep on dry land I built my basha tent next to the tree roots
which was on high ground.....and mind were the roots hard!.....*ouch*....
well we laid in the mud for 2 days and the finale was to dig a trench for
3 persons.....(actually can fit 5 people) overnight... it had to be chest
deep......and my section had 11 people they had to chose the tallest guy
to measure.... he was 1.9m tall......:|....sian!.....we digged and digged
the whole night. My hands had blisters all over and the worse thing was
that my hand was stiff in the position of grabbing the 'chunko' I was so
tired I didn't even know I slept when I laid my chunko aside to rest for
5 min.......somemore I broke my specs the day b4.....I couldn't see a thing
in the night.......(my degree was 500+) We dig and dig until the next morning
0900 and it rained again.......my sergeant didn't even bother to look at
the trench and asked us to cover it!!...#@!%!....it's like digging another
trench the other way........#$%$^#!!.....that was the most tiring day of
my life!....
