Personal Log – Deanna Troi
I am told (and I suppose that it could be true) that there are decent Ferengie. A decent Ferengie … an oxymoron if ever there was one.
On earth there is an ancient saying “beware of Greeks bearing gifts” it can be easily be applied to the Ferengie bearing gifts. There he was Rata offering the Captain he former ship the U.S.S. Stargazer. The ship was believed lost. Yet there it was, large as life twice and natural. This is the ship where the Capitan first used later became the Picard maneuver, where is seemed that the ship was in two places at the same time.
The hidden agenda of Rata so became manifest when the mind-altering device that had been placed on board began to alter his mind to make him think that he was reliving the past battle. The new target became Enterprise.
The emotions ran in controlled chaos as Worf felt his usual, Will was concerned
and angry that the incident had happened.
Tasha felt guilt as she had brought the confounded contraption on board;
I was just scared stiff as I watched the Captain react the historic event.
I had the unique insight as I felt first the despair at the death that surrounded the Captain then the frustration as the unknown ship refused to reply to hails and finally his determination as he barked his orders. I had no doubt in my mind that if Will was not able to intercept the Picard maneuver that we were doomed.
I am not ashamed to admit here that when all was over and I had checked that all bones were accounted for… I heaved a sigh of relief. There is only so much that this Betazed can take!
May the Rings of my mother’s house protect me!
